Coronation Street's Nathan Graham has reportedly quit the ITV cobbles after three years of playing James Bailey. The actor, who plays footballer James, first joined the soap in 2019 as part of the Bailey family and has recently been part of a huge storyline after his character suffered a heart attack. However, according to new reports, James star Nathan is said to have quit Corrie and is set to be "written out" in the coming weeks. A source told The Sun: "James will have to choose between his love of his footballing career and his health.
"His exit will see him leave behind Weatherfield for a new start away from the street." They added: "James’ family are still on the cobbles and he will only be a train ride away so it may not be the last viewers have seen of him." OK! has contacted ITV for comment. It comes as Nathan's on-screen sister Dee-Dee, played by Channique Sterling Brown, is set to arrive on the cobbles next week. In the upcoming scenes, Aggie and Ed Bailey, played by Lorna Laidlaw and Trevor Michael Georges, are delighted when their daughter Dee-Dee arrives to visit from America.
When James shows her the letter regarding the payoff he’s been offered from the club, solicitor Dee-Dee gets struck right in. Contacting the club, she's soon fighting for a better deal for her brother. Can Dee-Dee pull it out of the bag? Later, James enjoys giving Lily her first football lesson.
When he later hears that Lily made the football team, it gives him some food for thought... For all your updates on Coronation Street, sign up to our daily OK! newsletter.
