Construction work has started on a Glenkens windfarm.
Red Rock Power Ltd hope to have the Benbrack development near Carsphairn up and running by the spring of 2024.
Once fully operational, the 15 turbines will have a capacity of 67MW.
The development was granted planning permission in 2017 when it was owned by RWE – previously called E.ON Climate and Renewables. It was bought by Red Rock Power Ltd last year.
Project director Jamie Grant said: “We’ve been driving towards the start of construction since we acquired Benbrack early last year, so we’re excited to get started and be a step closer to generating clean energy.
“We’ll be working closely with our key contractors to deliver the windfarm quickly and with minimum disruption to the local area.”
Locals can expect regular updates via community councils or the project’s website and are encouraged to share feedback throughout the two-year build.
