Coleen Nolan ‘uncomfortable’ with coronation celebrations after sister Linda spent 20 hours in A&E amid cancer battle

Coleen Nolan admits she felt 'uncomfortable' by the coronation after her sister Linda spent 20 hours waiting in A&E at the weekend before being seen.
The Loose Women panellists discussed King Charles' Coronation on Monday's instalment of their ITV chat show as royalist Coleen opened up about her conflicting feelings. The 58-year-old self-proclaimed royalist admitted the Coronation was an uncomfortable watch as the NHS struggles and people can't afford food.
The coronation has been estimated to cost anywhere between £50 - £200 million, which has been a cause of debate among the public. Coleen revealed that her sister Linda, who is currently battling brain cancer, had to wait 20 hours in A&E over the weekend before being seen by a doctor.
Speaking on the ITV chat show, Coleen said: "It’s really weird for me because I am a royalist and I’ve always loved the weddings.
"Whenever people have gone, 'They’re a waste of time and it’s a waste of money', I’ve always been very much like, 'It’s amazing and it’s history and everyone’s celebrating' – but actually, through the whole thing this weekend, I felt really uncomfortable, I have to say."
"And that’s because of the state that we’re all in and the economy and the fact that people are struggling to eat," she added.
"My sister who is, as we know, very ill – she had to go to hospital and was in A&E for 20 hours before anyone saw her," Coleen stated. "And, of course, I’m the watching this spectacle going, it’s all very well saying it brought £300m in for that sector [hospitality], but can we please bring that in for the NHS because it’s dying?"
