Coco Jones Was Inspired by '90s R&B Legends For Her Grammys Look

She wore her hair swept up in a top knot, giving '90s chic, but updated.In an with Glamour ahead of the ceremony, Jones hinted that her look was inspired by the powerful women in music who came before her.“Whenever I'm thinking about a big event, I always go back in time to see things that have inspired me.
So I was inspired a lot by '90s R&B and the greats of that time and just the moments that they made,” she shared.
"Destiny’s Child had a lot of individual style, of course they had Beyonce's mom, Tina doing all of the creative for most of their outfits.
So I kind of wanted to take my own moment, something that hasn't been made already.”This year's Grammys cap off a breakout year for Coco Jones, who is nominated in five categories, including best new artist.
Her EP, What I Didn't Tell You, is competing for best R&B album, and the breakout single, "ICU" will compete for best R&B performance and best R&B song.As she told Glamour, though, Jones is focusing on enjoying the experience with those she cares about.“I'm excited to have a great look, to feel beautiful, to have my family there, my mom and brother and sister,” she said.
