Cleveland Cavaliers: Jarrett Allen Trade Talks Are Cooling Down

The Cleveland Guardians have placed ace pitcher Shane Bieber on the 60-Day IL. Bieber will now be sidelined until at least mid-September. Not only does this affect Cleveland’s playoff hopes it also cripples their trade market.

Earlier today, the full lineup of films selected for this year’s Venice Film Festival was announced. Some of the highlights include new films from David Fincher, Ava DuVernay, Wes Anderson, and Bradley Cooper.

When Emoni Bates stepped onto the court for his first summer league game for the Cleveland Cavaliers all eyes were on him. It is not every season that the 49th pick steps onto the summer league court with this kind of attention, but Bates is not your average 49th pick. Many things have happened since Bates was considered the best player out of his recruiting class. A rough NCAA career as well as off-the-court troubles plagued the young man.

The Cleveland Guardians are actually one of the few teams in the MLB that have the assets to make a Shohei Ohtani trade happen. Ohtani is the biggest name in baseball right now and he has been for a few years. The Los Angeles Angels are not even sure if they are willing to trade Shohei just yet.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have won the 2023 NBA Summer League Championship! The Cavs were dominant throughout the 11-day tournament going an impressive 6-0. With a big win over the Houston Rockets, the Cavaliers have won their first Summer League titles with a final score of 99-78. “It was incredible. Amazing group of guys here,” said Summer League coach Mike Gerrity.

According to James Piercey of NBAAnalysis.net, The Cleveland Cavaliers should trade Jarrett Allen, Issac Okoro, Rickey Rubio, and multiple draft picks for Paul George. Paul has been in trade rumors since joining the Clippers back in the summer of 2019. At the time the New York Knicks and the Portland Trailblazers were both interested in trading for George.

Clevelands’ President of basketball operations, Koby Altman has stated that he plans to keep the core four of Darius Garland, Donovan Mitchell, Jarrett Allen, and Evan Mobley together. This team made their first playoff appearance together last season, even though it did not go as planned.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have had their pick of some of the top talent in the past few NBA drafts. Being a rebuilding team they had a lottery pick for about four years straight. Selecting solid players such as Darius Garland and Evan Mobley were no-brainers for the Cavaliers.

The Cleveland Cavaliers were having a wonderful year before the start of the 2023 NBA playoffs. After barely missing the playoffs the year before Cleveland snuck in a deal to land super-star Donovan Mitchell from the Utah Jazz. Mitchell seemed like a perfect fit for this young team’s rise.

This very well may be the last season that Cleveland’s core remains intact as they might have to make some tough choices next year. There is league-wide belief that Evan Mobley will take over as the Cavaliers’ full-time center.

Cleveland sent over Cedi Osman and Lamar Stevens to San Antonio, Miami sent Max Stus to the Cavs, and the Spurs sent draft assets to the Heat. The question is, what role will Max Stus play for the Cleveland Cavaliers? Status is being considered for a spot in the starting line-up in Cleveland, but he may end up being a bench scorer.
