A historic church in Greater Manchester has suffered damage from anti social behaviour yet again, after "youths wearing balaclavas" set fires in the church grounds. Police want to speak to anyone with information about the young people setting fires near St Mary's Church in Droylsden.
The Grade II-listed Anglican Church, which dates back to 1848, has had problems with youths in the past with groups drinking, taking drugs, and causing damge to the churchyard in 2022. Then, officers confiscated cannabis off individuals, issued warnings, and destroyed the drugs in front of the teens' parents.
With the church becoming the victim of damage once again, neighbourhood officers from Greater Manchester Police are looking into the reports of damage and young people setting fires this Saturday (April 20), but are eager to speak to anyone who has any information about who was involved in the anti social behaviour.
