EXCLUSIVE: Chris Geere (This Is Us) is the newest addition to the cast of Kinda Pregnant, the Amy Schumer-led rom-com that Tyler Spindel (The Out-Laws) is directing for Netflix and Happy Madison, sources tell Deadline. Details as to his role are under wraps.
Written by Julie Paiva, the film follows Lainy (Schumer), who given jealousy over her best friend’s pregnancy, begins wearing a fake baby bump… then accidentally meeting the man of her dreams. In addition to Schumer, producers on the project include Adam Sandler, Tim Herlihy, Judit Maull, Kevin Grady and Eli Thomas for Happy Madison, and Molly Sims for Something Happy Productions. The executive producers are Barry Bernardi, Michael D Robins and Kevin Kane.
Also set to star, as previously announced, are Jillian Bell, Will Forte, Damon Wayans Jr., and Brianne Howey.
Breaking out stateside with his starring role opposite Aya Cash on FX’s acclaimed series You’re the Worst from Stephen Falk, Geere has more recently been seen playing Philip, the boss turned second husband of Kate Pearson (Chrissy Metz), on the Emmy-winning NBC series This Is Us. Also previously seen on shows like A Million Little Things, Single Parents, and Modern Family, the actor’s feature credits include Pokemon: Detective Pikachu and After Earth. He is represented by Creative Partners Group and Verve.
