Johnny Depp and English guitarist Jeff Beck are set to release a joint album on July 15 after the actor joined Beck on his European tour.  The album will include 13 tracks mostly covers of songs, featuring tunes from hit artists including the Beach Boys and Marvin Gaye. Depp is also including two original songs, with one song titled "This Is a Song for Miss Hedy Lamarr" as an homage to the actress.  "It’s an extraordinary honor to play and write music with Jeff, one of the true greats and someone I am now privileged enough to call my brother," Depp said in a statement on Thursday, which also marks the actor's 59th birthday.  Beck had unofficially teased the LP at a concert appearance last week, according to Variety.  The album, titled "18", was apparently named after the energy both artists felt when recording and performing together.  "We would joke about how we felt 18 again, so that just became the album title, too," said Beck in a statement.

The Queen has signed off her Platinum Jubilee Weekend of celebrations with a letter thanking the people of the UK, and pledging to continue to serve as monarch.

Queen Elizabeth made a surprise appearance on the balcony of Buckingham Palace on Sunday, marking the official end of the four-day Platinum Jubilee celebrations. The 96-year-old monarch was dressed in a green coat with a matching hat as she surprised the crowd.The royal -- who has not been spotted out in person since Thursday -- held on to a cane as she smiled and waved to the crowd. Her Majesty was joined on the balcony by her son, Prince Charles, daughter-in-law, Camila, Duchess of Cornwall, and her grandson, Prince William, his wife, Kate Middleton, and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Stephanie Davies-Arai, founder of Transgender Trend, who claims she is being wrongly called “transphobic”, was awarded the British Empire Medal in the Queen’s birthday honours on June 1 – the first day of Pride month. UK-based LGBTQI advocacy group Stonewall has in the past accused Transgender Trend, founded by Davies-Arai of “deeply damaging” and “inaccurate” content about trans children. Trasgender Trend had in 2018 warned schools to be “aware of the risk of ‘social contagion’ from celebrity trans internet vloggers who glamorise medical transition”. It has disputed “gender identity” According to Stonewall, the ‘schools resource pack’ produced by Transgender Trend was “dangerous”.

Barack Obama is virtually joining the Platinum Jubilee celebration. Obama sent a video message to Queen Elizabeth II to congratulate her on her 70th anniversary as a queen.“May the light of your crown continue to reign supreme,” Obama said during the BBC broadcast of Trooping the Colour. “When you’re president of the United States, you meet a lot of remarkable people, and you try under all circumstances to retain your composure,” the 44th president began his message.
