CBS has unveiled its fall schedule and while there’s a few changes, it’s largely business as usual.
New drama series So Help Me Todd is getting a Thursday night slot, taking over an hour that was previously dominated by comedies including the canceled B Positive. Fire Country, starring Seal Team’s Max Thieriot, gets the Friday 9pm slot that was previously inhabited by Magnum P.I., Wednesday goes full alternative with The Real Love Boat while CSI: Vegas moves from Wednesday to Thursday, replacing Bull.
New series East New York gets a Sunday night debut at 9pm, while NCIS: LA moves back an hour to 10pm.
New drama series True Lies, based on the James Cameron film, is confirmed for midseason.
There’s also midseason bows for alternative series Superfan and Lingo as well as Tough As Nails and Secret Celebrity Renovation.

In addition to repeating as America’s most-watched network, we launched several breakout hits, not to mention winning and improving many time periods across our schedule,” said Kelly Kahl, president of CBS Entertainment. “For the new season, we once again looked for ways to strengthen our position with new, compelling series, scheduling them strategically to guarantee sampling and maximize consistency and flow. We believe these great new shows, returning hits and our robust slate of event programming positions us for another winning year.”

Joe Otterson TV ReporterFox has formally set its 2022 fall schedule, with the long-gestating country music drama “Monarch” set to make its debut.Fox’s announcements comes two weeks after the broadcaster’s upfront presentation on May 16, whereas other broadcasters announced their schedule the day of their presentation. However, with this announcement Fox is also announcing its fall premiere dates, which other networks have yet to do.The full schedule can be seen below.“Monarch,” which stars Susan Sarandon and Trace Adkins, was originally meant to debut back on January 30 after the NFC Championship game. Fox moved the show to fall approximately two and half weeks before the originally scheduled launch date.
As we reported last month, Fox broke with tradition this year by announcing the bulk of its programming slate for the 2022-23 but not a fall schedule in conjunction with its May 16 upfront presentation. The network continues to be forging its own path by unveiling today its fall grid along with premiere dates, becoming the last broadcast network to release its fall lineup but the first to announce premiere dates.

NEW YORK -- Network TV’s fondness for reality fare and reboots combine in “The Real Love Boat,” a sea-going dating show that’s part of the CBS fall schedule announced Wednesday.Described as a “romance adventure competition,” the series credits as its inspiration the popular and kitschy comedy-drama “The Love Boat,” which aired from 1977-86 on ABC. “The Real Love Boat” will follow returning shows “Survivor” and “The Amazing Race” on Wednesday, a rare all-reality night for CBS.With so much programming available to viewers, “flow is important, lead-ins are important, compatible programming is important,” said Kelly Kahl, CBS Entertainment president.
