Call of Duty star Kamar de los Reyes has sadly passed away at 56. He was known for his roles in video games and the TV show One Life To Live and died on Christmas Eve in Los Angeles after a short fight with cancer. His family shared this sad news with The Hollywood Reporter.
Kamar was born in Puerto Rico but grew up in Las Vegas and became famous playing a boxer named Pedro in Blade to the Heat. Critics loved him, and acting parts followed. David Richards from The New York Times said: "The most arresting figure, however, is Mr de los Reyes.
More than any words he utters, the actor's haunted eyes, sunken cheeks and shaved head convey the extent of Pedro's torment. In repose, he's almost spectral. In the ring, he's like a short circuit, and his silent scream of triumph is a guaranteed spine-tingler." Kamar was even named one of People Magazine's Fabulous 50 in 1997.
Even with a string of awards to his name, Kamar de los Reyes remains best known for his role as Antonio in the famous American soap opera One Life To Live.
The character was an ex-gang member who became a lawyer turned police officer, all prompted by wrongful prison time for self-defence. Kamar also voiced a character in the hugely popular video game Call of Duty. Speaking about this experience in 2012, he told Shacknews: "I walked away from this experience knowing that I had just finished work on one of the most amazing projects I've ever been a part of." Besides those roles, Kamar made his mark in films like Nixon and Love and Suicide, and more recently appeared in the 2017 version of Sleepy Hollow and the TV show The Rookie.
