People all over the UK have reported suffering from a "brutal" cold that's "worse than a winter bug" and lasts for weeks.
During winter, it's more likely to come down with a cold due to the amount of time you spend inside along with the change in weather.
And this mystery virus - which is not Covid - has reportedly left people feeling "absolutely lousy" and hoping that they recover in time for Christmas.
Yorkshire Live reports that symptoms of the illness include a cough, a blocked nose, fatigue, headaches and a fever.
Posting in r/CasualUK, @an_achronist said: "Just coming off the back end of a brutal cold that's lasted about 3 weeks, during which my sinuses have been almost completely closed, relaxing only for brief periods while also producing mucus at an alarming rate.
"Emerging from my bed this morning, I could breathe through my nose again. I could smell things. It still feels like somebody poured Ready Brek into the back of my face, but it's finally over and life is beautiful again."
Somebody else agreed, adding: "I'm just emerging from it now. Bloody awful, almost like flu."
And @hoodman added: "I caught it in October, I was bedridden for days and then spent another week housebound, constantly looking at my phone to see if it had been 4 hours since my last dose of paracetamol.
"I'm assuming it's a Covid variant that isn't picked up by the tests, it was worse than any winter bug I'd had before 2020."
@itchyfrog said: "It's been a total b****rd, had me in bed for a couple of days and feeling shit for a couple of weeks now.
"I can totally recommend Otrivine nasal spray for the blocked nose/sinus bit though."
@littlejane45 concurred: "Currently on day 5 of it. Feel absolutely lousy. So much mucus it's ridiculous. Already

Meghan Markle were taken aback when King Charles III offered Prince Andrew Frogmore Cottage — shortly after they were evicted from the residence.According to royal expert Omid Scobie’s upcoming book, “Endgame,” the monarch’s gesture toward his younger brother was the “final blow” for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, 42.Although Charles’ decision was most likely not a dig directly at Harry, 39, Scobie insists it “undoubtedly” was. Furthermore, Charles, 75, always had a “blind spot” for his disgraced sibling, and Andrew repeatedly turned down the property.“This eviction surely spells the end of Harry and Meghan’s time in the UK,” an insider told the Sun earlier this year.“Andrew is resisting the idea of moving into Frogmore Cottage after he was offered it last week,” they added.
