He now uses a wheelchair after being told he will be paralysed for life. Jonathan and his fiancée, actress Amanda Abbington, recently appeared in an emotional joint interview on Lorraine– his first since the news broke of his accident.
The escapologist, who first found fame on BGT in 2019, told Lorraine: "I'm doing as well as I can be. It was pretty gnarly. It sounds very dramatic sitting here but I did nearly die." He also shared that the surgeon who performed an operation on his spine said it was "basically the worst he had ever seen".
