Britain’s Got Talent viewers may be used to their Saturday night fix of the reality show, but they’ll have to wait until Sunday as ITV “cancelled” the live semi-final ahead of their grand final airing on Sunday. In last night’s show, hosts Ant and Dec told viewers that there would be no show on Saturday evening as usual.
Ant broke the news to viewers as he said: "That's it from us but see you on Sunday night at 7.30pm straight after the football for the final of Britain’s Got Talent 2022." Dec added: "Plus, we've got a live performance from the cast of Sister Act: The Musical.They're going to be here on Sunday." Dec continued while pointing to the finalists: "These will all be here on Sunday, we'll be here on Sunday, hope you'll be here on Sunday." Following Stephen Mulhearn’s show In For A Penny show, ITV viewers will have Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom that will run in the usual BGT Saturday night spot.
Friday night was the last night of semi-finals and saw head judge Simon Cowell apologise to performer after scathing comments about magic act make a girl cry. The music mogul, who is normally not afraid to give incredibly harsh critiques to artists on the show, regretted his comments on this occasion when he realised one of the young members of Matrick's Illusion had been left in tears.
Simon was unimpressed by the performer's latest act, and didn't hesitate to call it "not magical enough". The head judge slammed his buzzer and explained: "I buzzed because I didn't feel it was magical enough.
