But at long last, with Part 1 of Season 3 premiering on May 16, the show’s many fans will see the events depicted in Julia Quinn’s novel “Romancing Mister Bridgerton” — a.k.a., the love story between Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton).

Heartstopper has become one of Netflix’s biggest smash hits, with the third series of the coming of age comedy drama arriving on the streaming service later this year. Alongside the regular cast, the new series will feature a cameo appearance from Jonathan Bailey, otherwise known as oldest brother Anthony Bridgerton in the hugely successful period drama.The 35 year old actor will be joined by two more new cast members – Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One star Hayley Atwell and The Thief, His Wife and the Canoe’s Eddie Marsan.

Posting a photo of herself in the outfit with the plunging neckline, Coughlan replied, “Cos it looked good.”Although Coughlan has been in “Bridgerton” since the steamy Shonda Rhimes historical drama premiered in 2020, the upcoming third season will be her first time taking the lead – and starring in the show’s infamously steamy scenes. Each season is based on a novel by Julia Quinn, and follows a different couple finding love in 1800s London.
