“Hey Ru. I lost my mother today on mother’s day. It’s been a tough one for me. This message came just in time. My mom loved you. She thought you were so funny and charming. Happy Mothers Day to you,” Bob wrote on Ru‘s thoughtful post about the holiday.
In RuPaul‘s video, he opened up about his own mother, who died over 30 years ago. “For all of you out there who are spending Mother’s Day without your mothers, just know that she lives in you and you carry that torch,” Ru said.
On Bob‘s own social media, he shared a photo of his mother, writing: “Happy Mother’s Day, everyone. Please call your mother today and tell her that you love her.”
Our thoughts are with Martha Caldwell‘s loved ones at this incredibly difficult time.

Matt Smith is opening up about House of the Dragon.
Even nearly five years later, folks are still salty about the conclusion of “Game of Thrones.” The series’ final season nearly destroyed the show’s legacy, and that was mainly due to the fact that the books have yet to be written and the show felt compelled to cram so much plot into a handful of episodes. According to the showrunner of “House of the Dragon,” there’s no need to worry about the series’ conclusion.
Matt Smith plays Daemon, a warrior prince who exists among fire-breathing reptiles and palace intrigue. But if his character were ever to leap deeper into the supernatural, Smith has some ideas about where he could go. “I think Daemon would make a really good vampire,” he says.

Despite more movies in the marketplace, we’re still feeling the aftermath of the strikes. How is that? Many aren’t in the habit of moviegoing yet, and while content is king, neither of this weekend’s releases are expected to create a stampede: one is a prequel/spinoff with a new actress to a beloved Oscar winning cult movie, and the other is a family movie of an age-old comic-strip cat who eats lasagna. Don’t expect a $200M+ four-day weekend like the last two Memorial Day holiday frames have delivered.
Morgan Spurlock has sadly passed away.
There are a lot of streamers out there, but none quite like Dropout. “I’m a determined hipster,” jokes Dropout owner and CEO Sam Reich. “I can’t do anything that the rest of the industry is doing — I’m just too determined to be unique.”

House of the Dragon stars, Olivia Cooke and Emma D’Arcy, might feud on-screen, but in real life, they both agree going viral and becoming a meme is not a good experience.
Zack Sharf Digital News Director “House of the Dragon” stars Olivia Cooke and Emma D’Arcy have started the promotional train for Season 2 of the “Game of Thrones” spinoff by gracing the cover of Entertainment Weekly’s latest digital issue, but they’re still somewhat haunted by one insanely viral moment from their Season 1 press tour. That would be the Negroni Spagliato meme. It all started when Cookie and D’Arcy were flown from San Diego Comic-Con in July 2022 to San Francisco to shoot promos for “House of the Dragon.” HBO tasked the two actors with asking each other questions on video.
Elsa Keslassy International Correspondent The Bureau Sales has teamed with French production banner Paprika and filmmaker Vincent Munier on “Whispering in the Woods,” a documentary that will be teased to buyers at the Cannes Film Market. “Whispering in the Woods” marks Munier’s follow-up to “The Velvet Queen” (co-directed by Marie Amiguet), a critically acclaimed documentary that competed for a Golden Eye Award at the Cannes Film Festival and won a Cesar prize in 2022. The doc is currently filming across different locations, from the Vosges mountains to Tibet, and is expected to be delivered by next spring.
Was there any doubt “House of the Dragon” was going to be a hit? Probably not. But I think everyone was surprised at how many fans and critics adored the series, making it one of the biggest on TV and in the history of HBO.
