A night to remember! BravoCon got off to a dramatic start in New York City — and the surprises just kept coming when the casts from every major franchise made an appearance at Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen Presents: Andy’s Legends Ball on Friday, October 14.
During the live taping at Hammerstein Ballroom at the Manhattan Center, a variety of Real Housewives came together to attempt to squash their past issues. Jill Zarin and Tamra Judge kicked off the event by addressing the real estate agent’s return to The Real Housewives of Orange County.
Earlier this year, the Ultimate Girls Trip costars made headlines when the RHONY alum, 58, announced Tamra’s return to Bravo after her 2020 exit. “Tamra’s coming back, and you know, my friend Vicki [Gunvalson]‘s not happy,” Jill said via an Instagram Live video in July. In response, the Vena CBD cofounder, 55, replied, “Go f–k yourself @JillZarin! You thirsty bitch!”
Jill, for her part, attempted to clarify the situation that same month. “I just have to straighten something out. This morning I was on my way to the event and I use the expression often, ‘breaking news,’ but it doesn’t mean that there’s anything breaking that wasn’t broken to me,” she explained on Instagram. “I had read online that Vicki was not coming back and Tamra was — and I said that. I just repeated what I had read. I don’t have any inside information. Nobody talks to me at Bravo. I know absolutely nothing. I just repeated the news that was already printed.”
She continued: “[Tamra] I’m so happy for you. You wanted this and I’m happy for you. Why is there any animosity? Anyway, we’re going to have to straighten that one out but congratulations anyway, and only wish the best for everybody.”

The crew is finishing setup, and Bassett prepares herself. As the teleprompter rolls, she mouths the words, so fervently that the tech staff tiptoe and all the air in the room seems to hush.During this five-minute meditation, Bassett’s face telegraphs a range of affective states, queueing them, bringing them forward, then allowing them to fade.

Manori Ravindran International Editor Banijay Group CEO Marco Bassetti may be making a smart marketing move by delivering a Mipcom keynote on Oct. 18, but the Italian executive insists that “PR, for us, comes after.” At the first major TV market for the “Survivor” distributor since its $2.2 billion acquisition of Endemol Shine Group in 2020, Bassetti has a clear message: Producers, including Banijay, need a more equitable business model against the streamers. “It’s the golden age of content, but I’m not sure it’s the golden age of revenue share for producers,” Bassetti tells Variety from Banijay Group’s Paris headquarters in late September. “We need to be careful if we want to continue creating value in the industry. We need to fight to allow producers to keep their model as it was before.”

Another rock star gets the Barbie treatment with a new Tina Turner doll from Mattel, announced today. The Tina Turner Barbie Doll, part of the toy company’s Music Series, features the Grammy-winning and chart-topping singer in the outfit she wore in the iconic music video for “What’s Love Got to Do With It,” pegged to the song’s 40th anniversary. She wears a black mini dress, a denim jacket, sheer black tights and black heels. The most notable part of the doll is Mini Tina’s signature volumized and textured hair, a style she often rocked throughout the ’80s as she rebranded herself as a solo act. “We used a lot of screen grabs to see the hair at all angles,” designer Bill Greening said in a statement. “Lots of teasing and hairspray was involved!” The track, which became the singer’s first and only No. 1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart when it was released in 1984, was also the title of the 1993 biopic about Turner starring Angela Bassett. She took home three awards for the song at the 1985 Grammy Awards. “Barbie is proud to honor the unmatched career of the ‘Queen of Rock ‘n Roll’ with a @TinaTurner Barbie doll,” Mattel wrote on Instagram. “Collectors and music fans alike can celebrate the music icon with the new Signature #Barbie doll.” Mini Tina joins other doll-sized artists in the Music Series, such as David Bowie and Gloria Estefan.
