‘Better Call Saul’ star Rhea Seehorn leads new Vince Gilligan show

Megan Thee Stallion is pulling double duty on Saturday Night Live this week (October 15) as the show’s host and musical guest. And today (October 12), NBC released a promo sketch for the upcoming episode featuring Meg alongside one of SNL’s newer cast members, Sarah Sherman (aka Sarah Squirm). In the sketch, Sarah — who joined the show’s cast in 2021 — pops by Megan’s temporary office at 30 Rockefeller Plaza to gauge her hype level for her appearance this Saturday.

Drake has announced announced a small theatre show in New York for next month.The Canadian artist, who released his seventh album ‘Honestly, Nevermind’ in June, will take to the stage at the 1,500-capacity Apollo Theater in Harlem on November 11 as part of SiriusXM’s Small Stages series.As Spin notes, Drake has only played four live shows so far this year.Tickets for the star’s intimate NYC gig are available for free to SiriusXM subscribers. The film world premiered at the Venice Film Festival and had its North American premiere at Toronto. The suspense-filled ensemble film also stars Doria Tillier (“La belle époque”), Suzanne Clément (“Mommy”), Dominique Blanc (“Indochine”) and Jacques Weber (“En thérapie”). Marnier’s follow up to “Faultless”and “School’s Out,” “The Origin of Evil” was produced by Caroline Bonmarchand with Kim McCraw and Luc Déry of mirco_scope with Avenue B Productions executive producing. IFC Films will release the film in 2023.

Apple TV+ has given a straight-to-series order to Vince Gilligan’s next show, which will star Rhea Seehorn, the streamer announced Thursday.The streaming service has ordered two seasons. Gilligan recently wrapped up executive producer duties on “Better Call Saul,” which Seehorn co-starred in alongside Bob Odenkirk.“After fifteen years, I figured it was time to take a break from writing antiheroes … and who’s more heroic than the brilliant Rhea Seehorn? It’s long past time she had her own show, and I feel lucky to get to work on it with her,” Gilligan said in a statement. “And what nice symmetry to be reunited with Zack Van Amburg, Jamie Erlicht and Chris Parnell! Jamie and Zack were the first two people to say yes to ‘Breaking Bad’ all those years ago.

Represented in international markets by Be For Films, “Full Time” world premiered at last year’s Venice festival in the Horizons sections and won a pair of awards for Laure Calamy (“Call My Agent!”) and Gravel. The critically acclaimed film went on to made its U.S. debut at New Directors/New Films. Music Box Films will release “Full Time” in cinemas and on home entertainment platforms in 2023.

Chloe Moriondo has shared her latest single ‘Cdbaby’ and announced a UK and European tour for 2023.The indie-pop artist will return next month with her third album ‘SUCKERPUNCH’, which follows 2021’s acclaimed ‘Blood Bunny’.‘Cdbaby’ marks the second track to be released from ‘SUCKERPUNCH’, following August’s ‘Fruity’, and finds Moriondo lacing the track with a drum’n’bass beat. “Now some songs make me sick to my stomach when I hear ‘em / How’d I let you ruin one of my favourite albums?” she asks on the song.“This is my baby and child,” the musician tweeted last week (September 17).

Ben Croll Emmy-winning writer Alice Prodanou and cross-media brand Star Stable Entertainment will bring their hit web show “Star Stable: Mistfall” to television. Working with animation studios Ferly and Atmosphere Media, Prodanou will oversee creative duties on the tween-skewing episodic series, set to enrich and expand the world of the YouTube short-form that premiered in 2020. “We’ve always intended on doing a full-length series,” Prodanou tells Variety. “The 10 x 5-minute YouTube series that we’ve already produced was proof-of-concept and an exciting part of our development process. [The web series] got over 15 million views and amazing engagement from fans who were vocal about wanting to see more.”
