Below Deck star opens up on being raped in resurfaced clip amid sexual misconduct scandal

A resurfaced clip from Below Deck has shown one of its stars tearfully opening up on having been raped, years before she tried to protect one of her crew mates from a co-star accused of sexual misconduct. Below Deck Down Under star Aesha Scott was seen trying to help Margot Sisson in this week's episode of the reality show which included controversial scenes of sexual misconduct.
Aesha was also very upset as she spoke to Captain Jason Chambers about deckhand Luke Jones' behaviour - and now the resurfaced episode from 2019 has given more context to why Aesha, 31, was so upset. In an episode of Below Deck Mediterranean which aired in 2019, Aesha was shown crying as she recalled being assaulted after a night of drinking.
She said: "I remember I was so apologetic to the detective and I kept apologising, thinking it was my fault, acting like I shouldn't have been there drunk. "And she just kept saying, 'We all get wasted but you have the right to feel safe to get that wasted and be able to make it home.' "So I just think it's important for women who are put in these situations to not blame themselves, because you should be able to get wasted and go home without worrying about it." Viewers of the TV series were shocked to see Luke's behaviour as he pestered Margot while she was drunk despite her clearly telling him to leave her alone.
He had asked to cuddle with her as she told him no, leading Aesha to take Margot back to her cabin and get her some water. But Luke continued hassling Margot, trying to get her to go to the jacuzzi with him even though she told him no again.
