A wildly popular award-winning bakery is up for sale and on the hunt for an aspiring baker to take on the business.
Ayr’s Wild Dough are on the lookout for a new owner to take the helm at the bakery as baker Diana Parusheva shared it was time for her to “hang up her apron” to focus on a new adventure.
The craft bakery and artisan food store - who are known and loved for their fresh loafs and baked goods with delightful flavour combinations - have been a local favourite for years, stopping shoppers in their tracks as they pass the Newmarket Street shop window, eyeing up the delicious breads, sandwiches, cakes and pastries on offer.
Favourite buys include sourdough and spelt loafs, posh dogs, pizza bagels, haggis sausage rolls, cinnamon buns, scones and strawberry tarts.
Diana and her team have been baking their award-winning breads for an impressive eight years, opening the Newmarket Street shop in 2021 and café, Caffeinated Duck, across the road last year.
Now, owner Diana said it was time to pass on the torch to a fellow passionate bread maker, with Wild Dough remaining open until Christmas “or until the right buyer comes along.”
In a heartfelt announcement, Wild Dough said: “After eight years of baking amazing bread, cakes and pastries - that have been enjoyed by local, nationwide and international customers alike - the time has come for me to hang up my apron and pass on my beloved bakery to someone who shares the same passion for baking as me.
“The ‘Wild Dough’ loaf has earned the reputation as “The best bread in the West of Scotland” and with a few prestigious awards under its belt, I am more than proud of what my amazing team and I have achieved in the past few years.
“As I now prepare to embark on a new adventure away
