Princess Beatrice has given fans an update regarding her mother Sarah, Duchess of York’s health during a rare TV appearance. Princess Beatrice appeared on This Morning on Monday, 6 May where she shared the happy news with presenters Josie Gibson and Craig Doyle that her mother was “doing really well” and that she was “thriving”. Last summer Sarah, Duchess of York revealed that she’d undergone a “successful” operation after a routine mammogram detected breast cancer.
Then just months later, she revealed that she’d been diagnosed with malignant melanoma.
Speaking on This Morning, Princess Beatrice, 35, paid tribute to her “amazing” mum and gushed over the “resilience” that she’d shown. “She's such a phenomenal icon. As a mum she's been amazing.
She's been through so much and her sense of purpose and resilience really keeps me going,” she said. “She's doing really well, thank you Josie. She had a bumpy health scare last year but she's all clear now.
But I think at 64, she's thriving, she's been through so much, but now she's coming into her own.” The royal then went on to discuss the importance of getting concerns checked out as early as possible and added how “lucky” she felt to live somewhere where that was possible. “We’re really lucky in the UK to make sure you can get those checks as best as you can and hopefully we can be there to support each other when anyone goes through a health scare,” she added. In response to her interview on This Morning, viewers at home took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to praise Princess Beatrice for her slot on the show.
