Strictly Come Dancing's Hamza Yassin is losing his "energy and confidence" ahead of the finale, according to a dance expert. Dr Jill Rose Jacobs believes that the star, who lives in a remote area of Scotland, is starting to doubt himself that he can lift the glittered ballroom trophy.
After getting underway in September, the popular BBC show will come to an end on Saturday, December 17, with a winner announced that evening. There are just five celebrities left in the BBC competition.
Speaking ahead of this weekend's semi-final show, Dr Rose said: "This has been the third consecutive week that Hamza’s dancing didn’t ‘wow’ me. The judges hinted at their confusion. ‘Lion King & Samba?’ said Motsi.
"The costumes were aesthetically unsightly and the dance style didn’t pair to the musical accompaniment. Hamza surprises with his dance ability, but it seems that he may be lacking confidence enough to believe he can grab the trophy.
"Hamza, like the other celebrities are dealing with physical exhaustion. A couple of weeks ago I noticed Hamza wearing supports on both of his knees in the pre-performance video.
"Following his performance and while the judges were giving their critique, Hamza stood in a turned-out foot position from ballet. This action stated that Hamza is working on retraining his habit of ‘hen-toeing’. I suspect this is the source affecting Hamza's knee."
Hamza will be hoping to impress the judges and the audience enough this weekend to book a spot in the final. He will be up against Fleur East, Will Mellor, Molly Rainford and Helen Skelton for a place in the grand finale.
