Strictly Come Dancing's Giovanni Pernice has joked about being a 'bad boy' alongside his co-star ahead of their return to screens. The dancer has been hitting the headlines after finally speaking about his early exit from the BBC One dance contest last year.
Giovanni, who has been a professional on the show since 2015, was paired with Amanda Abbington during the 2023 series but she shared her decision to quit just weeks into the competition. She pulled out of one of the live shows of the series, despite impressing with her moves, due to 'medical reasons'.
But before she and her professional dance partner Giovanni Pernice were due to return for the contest's Halloween special, it was announced Amanda would be leaving the competition due to 'personal reasons'.

Neither has directly spoken out about what happened until now as Giovanni has said it is a "shame" that Amanda left the show early as he feels they could have "gone all the way".
Speaking in a new interview on the Mirror's Invite Only podcast, Giovanni, 33, said: "It was a shame that she had to leave for medical reasons because I think, in my opinion, we could have gone all the way."
Asked if he is a perfectionist, he agreed but said it comes from a place of "caring". The Italian star said: "I am a perfectionist." He continued: "100%, but it comes from a perspective of caring. In every single part of the world, if (you’re) a professional dancer, we have to get these people on the Saturday night looking the best as they can."
