BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Amy Dowden has 'good feeling' as she makes vow after being 'robbed'

Strictly Come Dancing star Amy Dowden has said she's got a 'good feeling' about the year ahead as she made a vow after being 'robbed' of the 2023 she had planned. As the year drew to a close over the weekend, the dancer reflected on what had been a difficult journey.
Amy was diagnosed with breast cancer last year, sharing the news with her fans in May after undergoing a mastectomy and reconstruction. She later underwent chemotherapy treatment that saw her face a number of setbacks including sepsis and blood clots while also having to undergo fertility treatment.
But determined to carry on, the Welsh star managed to return to Strictly after being forced out of competing in the most recent series. However, her plans to make a dancing return were scuppered when she broke her foot shortly after finishing her eight rounds of chemo.

Addressing her fans before 2023 came to an end, Amy said she was "actually finding it hard looking at others post of the past year" and felt "robbed of the year I had planned".
But speaking on BBC Radio Wales, Amy appeared to be feeling positive about what was to come. "After having a mastectomy, chemotherapy, fertility treatment, the lot, I am now finally looking ahead to 2024," she said.
It is then when she vowed : "I’ve just got a good feeling it’s going to be my year and hopefully I’m going to get that Glitterball and I’m going to bring it back to Wales, because a Welsh professional dancer’s never won the show.
