BBC News fans were treated to a glimpse of a very familiar face on Tuesday when Karin Giannone returned to Broadcasting House after a year away from our screens.
The 50 year old reporter shared the news that she would be returning in the coming days on social media, as she posted a photograph from the iconic BBC newsroom while rehearsing for her on-screen return. In the image, Karin smiled for the camera while posing on crutches in a chic blue blazer and white camisole, which she accessorised with a simple necklace, gold watch and complimentary stud earrings.
Alongside the photo, Karin wrote: "Made it into the newsroom to do studio rehearsals. So great to be back and can’t wait to be back on air when all healed! Now resting and icing the #knee for a good while longer." Immediately after the image was posted, countless fans flocked to the comments to section to celebrate the return of the presenter, with one fan writing: "The stars are aligning in a fabulous resurgence…." A second fan then added: "Great news! Wishing you all the best, Karin." Before a third fan commented: ”Great to see you back Karin.

Great to see you back where you belong!” The exciting update comes after Karin was pulled off air last year alongside four other BBC News colleagues as part of a corporate re-structure to streamline the News service by amalgamating BBC World News and the BBC News Channel .
This meant that the existing employees were told to re-apply for their own jobs if they hoped to keep them. Karin, alongside, Geeta Guru-Murthy, Kasia Madera, and Annita McVeigh and Martine Croxall were all stuck in a state of limbo regarding their future as broadcasters at the channel.
