Call the Midwife stalwart Helen George has revealed she experienced an incredibly awkward moment with a fan of the BBC period drama. The 39 year old star, who was previously in a relationship with her co-star Jack Ashton from the show, is currently filming episodes for the new series due to air in January 2024.
The Nurse Trixie Franklin actress, who has played the bubbly blonde ever since the series first debuted, continues to shoot scenes at the show's Historic Dockyard location in Kent, which doubles up for East London.
It is also where official fan tours for the BBC favourite take place, with staff often dressing up in traditional nurse outfits from the 1950s and 1960s. As a result, customers could mistake cast members for tour guides, leading Helen to open up on one such embarrassing experience.
Chatting to presenter Claudia Winkleman, according to The Sun, the actress explained: "This week I was mistaken for a Trixie lookalike impersonator tour guide at the Chatham museum, and asked for directions to the toilet! "I obliged, as I knew where they were!" Helen went on, but admitted that she has even used this to her advantage at times. "Sometimes if I’m down there and sort of not in the mood, if someone says 'Are you Trixie from Call the Midwife?', I say 'No, I’m a tour guide'.
It works both ways!" the star giggled. While fans can expect to see Helen's iconic Trixie bob back in action on the new series of Call the Midwife, the actress herself has opted for a fresh hair look as autumn inches ever closer.
Sharing a fresh set of selfies on her Instagram page, the actress showed off her nearly-black tresses with a sleek straight style. The star first went for a new shade earlier this year, but has opted to dye her mane even
