Former Bulgarian mystic woman Vangeliya Pandeva Gushterova, also known as Baba Vanga, has been known to predict many high-profile events before they happen.
Some of these predictions include the election of an African American as the President of the United States, and Indira Gandhi's assassination in 1984, reports the Mirror.
Loyal followers of Baba Vanga have conveyed her predictions through writing, as she has never recorded them down. However, some of her supposed prophecies seemed to have come true for 2023 - but not all of them, though.
The clairvoyant, also known as the "Nostradamus of the Balkans", is believed to be so psychic that 85 per cent of her predictions are meant to be true. Baba Vanga apparently gained her powers after she lost her sight during a deadly storm when she was a child.
It was also reported that Baba was swept from her homeland in Bulgaria by the storm, which caused her to get too much sand in her eyes.
So, what did Baba get right and wrong this year? Read on below to find out more.
The clairvoyant reportedly predicted the creation of "designer babies" that are grown in laboratories, with parents being able to select their physical traits.
In December last year, biotechnologist Hashem Al-Ghaili released a video that presented a lab that was reportedly able to "incubate up to 30,000 lab-grown babies per year".
This project, dubbed Ectolife, is yet to exist in the world, but those troubled by genetic engineering do have reason to be worried as the facility's as-of-yet hypothetical "Elite Package" allows parents to "edit any trait of [their] baby through a wide range of over 300 genes".
Baba's prediction, then, is worryingly plausible – but not quite correct.
Baba Vanga is also said to have predicted a

Stuart Miller Da’Vine Joy Randolph had grown weary of scripts that offered her shallow or one-dimensional characters. “I’ve felt like I had to fight for fully realized characters with complexities or even start writing or producing myself,” she says. Then she was sent David Hemingson’s script for “The Holdovers,” for the role of Mary Lamb, who works in the cafeteria of a prep school for the wealthy, soldiering on even as she mourns the death of her sonin Vietnam. “I was so overjoyed to read this character, someone who was really struggling, but also trying to persevere in spite of her situation,” says Randolph, who was nominated for a Tony Award in 2012 for her performance in “Ghost: The Musical.” She has since appeared in everything from “Dolemite Is My Name,” “High Fidelity” and “Only Murders in the Building” to “The United States vs.

The royal family marked Christmas Day by attending the traditional festive church service on the King’s Sandringham estate.
Far from the world of royal banquets and formal regal traditions, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex prefer a more low-key Christmas these days. Since moving to balmy Montecito in California in March 2020, Harry, Meghan and their two children Prince Archie, four, and Princess Lilibet, two, have opted for relaxed festive celebrations on their luxury five-acre estate. “We’re probably talking barbecues and walks on the beach for the Sussexes rather than obligatory black-tie dinners and pheasant shoots at Sandringham,” says royal expert Duncan Larcombe.
With Christmas only days away, the Royal Family will be making their final preparations to head off to Sandringham to enjoy the festive season together. Despite an invitation having reportedly been extended, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex look set to remain in California with their two young children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. While this does not come as a surprise after a turbulent year of veiled attacks in the form of books, documentaries and interviews, it is likely the couple will enjoy an intimate festive season.
Clayton Davis Senior Awards Editor Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor has made some changes in her life. We’ve all grown to know her as the two-time Emmy nominated actress from “When They See Us” and “Lovecraft Country” and her Oscar-nominated performance in “King Richard,” all of which came under her initial professional name: Aunjanue Ellis. When the first promotional materials were released for her new film “Origin” from writer and director Ava DuVernay, a natural question began circulating regarding the hyphenated addition of “Taylor” to her professional name.
