Armie Hammer, following a lengthy investigation by the LAPD. In a statement, the D.A.’s office said it could not prove rape allegations beyond a reasonable doubt, in part due to the “complexity of the relationship” between Hammer and the accuser. The accuser, who was previously identified as Effie, reported Hammer to the police in February 2021. She alleged that Hammer had been physically abusive during an on-and-off relationship that spanned four years, and said that he had violently raped her in 2017. Hammer vehemently denied her allegations.
The D.A.’s office said that it assigns experienced prosecutors to review sexual assault investigations.
“In this case, those prosecutors conducted an extremely thorough review, but determined that at this time, there is insufficient evidence to charge Mr. Hammer with a crime,” the office said. “As prosecutors, we have an ethical responsibility to only charge cases that we can prove beyond a reasonable doubt… Due to the complexity of the relationship and inability to prove a non-consensual, forcible sexual encounter we are unable to prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt.” Following Effie’s accusation and those of other women, Hammer’s career has been severely damaged. Hammer — who starred in “The Social Network” and “Call Me by Your Name” — has not worked in Hollywood since allegations surfaced in early 2021. Allegations against Hammer first exploded on social media via an Instagram account run by Effie. Other women soon joined with their own allegations on social media, creating a flurry of viral headlines, including accusations of cannibalistic and BDSM fetishes that women said were used as a smokescreen for emotional and physical abuse. Hammer was dropped by his agency,

Majors was arrested on March 25 in Manhattan on domestic violence allegations and later charged with several accounts of assault and aggravated harassment. At the center of the charges is a dispute with a 30-year-old woman, who told officers that she was assaulted and was taken to the hospital with “minor injuries to her head and neck.” In April, the alleged victim was granted a temporary order of protection, which means the two parties must not have any direct or third-party contact. The judge on Tuesday reiterated the “stay away” order remains in effect until the beginning of the trial.

the Hollywood Reporter. “It’s so hot and combustible right now.”Bentley was referring to his role as as Jamie Dutton, the more political-minded attorney general son of family patriarch John Dutton (Kevin Costner), who has various dramas on the show, along with his siblings Kayce (Luke Grimes) and Beth (Kelly Reilly). However, he could have just as easily been referencing all the behind the scenes drama. Creator Taylor Sheridan, 53, and Costner, 68, have a rumored feud that’s been ongoing. Amid Costner’s surprise divorce, there were allegations that he refused to spend more than one week filming the second half of Season 5 — a claim that Costner’s attorney denied. A different source claimed that Sheridan was to blame for the friction, stating that the showrunner developed a “God complex” as his star rose. “Only Taylor truly knows what is going on,” a source told The Post. “Taylor spent years not being truly appreciated in Hollywood, and now that he’s the top of the heap, there’s definitely some ego to all of this.”A article in the Wall Street Journal detailed Sheridan’s “ridiculous spending,” which includes renting his own cattle to Paramount at $25 a head, and charging up to $50,000 a week for the show to film on ranches that he owns. He also reportedly insists on using his preferred farrier to make the horseshoes, and had the specialist flown out to Montana from Texas in order to get the job done. “Are you kidding me? We can’t find a local person?” wrote David Glasser, the head of 101 Studios, in an email to staff. Bentley did not directly address all these rumors, but he did say about the show’s end, “You just never know.

a sorry peak last year when “Succession” got a record 14 acting noms while “The White Lotus” and “Dopesick” grabbed an astonishing 13 of the 14 nominations in the limited series supporting actor and actress categories.(Poor Sebastian Stan from “Pam & Tommy” was left as the sole representative of the other 107 programs that were eligible in the categories, 106 of which were shut out completely.)For years, I’d been blaming the increasing lack of variety on voters being lazy in not looking beyond a handful of favorite shows — but last year, it became clear that the problem might well have been that the Academy rules were making them look lazier than they might really be. Those rules asked voters to peruse ballots with hundreds of contenders and then gave them this instruction: “Vote for all entries in this category that you … feel are worthy of a nomination.” (Boldface mine.)In other words, voters could – and, apparently, did – vote for everybody from “Succession,” everybody from “The White Lotus,” everybody from “Dopesick,” everybody from all their favorite shows without thinking twice.
