reported Monday that it has obtained emails and text messages from the friend’s account that claim Chambers, 40, discreetly pretended to be the friend and reportedly provided media outlets with information about Hammer, 36, in the months before and after news of his affairs and sexual abuse allegations became public.Hammer has denied all allegations against him. Chambers’ friend — who wanted to withhold her name in the CNN report for privacy concerns — told the outlet that she’s releasing the alleged receipts because she thinks the whole plan “went too far” as she was trying to “support my friend while she was going through a difficult divorce.”She also said that she and Chambers are no longer pals and claimed that she would sometimes talk to reporters on the phone while Chambers stood next to her, feeding her what to say.
This made the friend feel “pressured” to keep it going, she told CNN.Also included in CNN’s evidence are alleged screenshots of Chambers and her friend talking about the impersonation.
