Brits up and down the country are gearing up for huge celebrations for the King’s Coronation this May, with many planning get-togethers, Big Lunches and barbecues to mark the occasion. The bank holiday will run from May 6 to May 8, and families are planning to kit out their homes with Royal-themed decorations to celebrate.
And for those wanting to pull out all of the stops and have a royal visit themselves, Argos is selling the ultimate party purchase so it looks as though King Charles himself has popped around for afternoon tea and a glass of fizz.
The retailer is selling three cardboard cut-outs of the King on their website, including a Regal King Charles - the most popular so far - as well as one of him wearing a blue suit, and a third featuring both King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla.

Cardboard cut-out sales have gone “well beyond what we would expect” according to an Argos spokesperson, with the retailer planning to sell even more before the big day.
Searches for King Charles cardboard cut-outs on Argos.co.uk are reportedly up by 369 per cent over the last four weeks, taking the crown for the most searched for cardboard cut-out across the website.
Even some of the most famous character cut-outs from the likes of Frozen, Toy Story, Hey Duggee and Star Wars couldn’t compete with the ‘King Charles Blue Suit Cutout.’
An Argos spokesperson said: “Our Royal Family selection of cardboard cut-outs have always been a favourite of our customers, with King Charles proving himself to be a top seller. Even Queen Elsa can’t compete in the run up to the celebrations.
