Fans of the “Dune” novel series were not shocked by much in Denis Villeneuve’s adaptation. However, even if you read the original book, you were probably shocked to see the inclusion of Anya Taylor-Joy in the film.

Anya Taylor-Joy learned on the set of George Miller’s “Mad Max: Fury Road” prequel “Furiosa.” Under heavy coats of makeup, shooting in the Australian winter when daylight was scarce, Taylor-Joy wished she could have stayed in bed at least through the crack of dawn. Instead, she’d rise up in the middle of the night, ready to do battle. “I had the earliest call time of my life: 1:45 a.m.,” the 28-year-old actress says on a recent Los Angeles afternoon.

All the elements are there to launch Gavras as a major writer/director, here making his first English language film.

For the Australian premiere of her new Mad Max movie, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, Taylor-Joy wore a mostly sheer, gold chain-mail minidress that was covered in long, arrow-like spears, thus guaranteeing that no person could come within about a foot of the actor without risking impalement. And yes, of course she wore a spike-covered headdress to match.Under the dress, Taylor-Joy appears to be wearing only a nude thong, and she styled the outfit with a pair of high-heeled Lucite slides.
