Police are appealing for information after a man was found with a serious head injury outside a pub in Greenock last night.

Furious Scots gathered in a street last night and demanded a man they believed to be a sex offender was removed from their street. Rumours began to circulate on Facebook that a ' notorious sex offender ' had recently been rehoused near the Danderhall area in Midlothian.
A crowd then gathered outside the property on Neatoune Court at around 8:45pm on Monday, October 3. According to Edinburgh Live, there were reports of multiple police vehicles descending on the quiet street.
Police Scotland attended and gave advice before the crowd later dispersed but no arrests were made. Cops confirmed there was a gathering outside one of the properties on the quiet suburban street on Monday night.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police were made aware of a gathering outside a property in Neatoune Court, Danderhall, Midlothian around 8.45pm on Monday, October 3. Officers attended, gave advice and assistance and the group later dispersed. No arrests were made."
On Tuesday morning, at least three police vehicles remained on Neatoune Court.
Members of the Danderhall community angrily speculated the offender’s identity on Facebook. “Get him out,” one resident said. Another posted: “Protest outside Neatoune Court to remove [the sex offender.] Please join.”
