Angie was nominated and won the fundraising category at the awards show, making her one of the only winners of the category since the awards were introduced.
Angie said: “I’m absolutely blown away to have won. I’m really proud of my award but even prouder to be working for Alzheimer’s Society, which is an amazing charity.”
Angie has kept making her mark in the community by also being recognised by the ‘Amazing Ashton Awards’ after entering the final after raising money and awareness for dementia.
Angie has also organised events in her community such as a charity choir event at the Albion Church in Ashton to also help with awareness and raise money for dementia.
She continued: “People living with dementia came together with their carers and some care home staff. We had three choirs take part, including a local primary school, Rock Choir and Tameside Community Voices.
“Local supporters also made craft items and cakes which were sold to boost our total amount raised to £1000, which I was over the moon about.”
