Amy Winehouse actor Marisa Abela was seen swigging from a bottle of vodka as she roamed the streets at night, in new set pictures from the upcoming biopic about the late singing star. The snaps show Marisa, 26, wandering in London wearing a leopard print top and black tracksuit bottoms along with some pink satin ballet pumps, which were favoured by Amy, who tragically died in 2011 of alcohol poisoning, aged just 27. In character as the troubled star, Marisa could be seen drinking from a small bottle of vodka and looking dishevelled, with her black hair falling past her shoulders and black makeup smudged around her eyes. The actress wore large hooped earrings and had a forlorn look on her face as she filmed the scenes for the biopic, which is directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson.
It's called Back to Black, the same name as one of Amy's most defining hits, and it also stars former Skins star jack O'Connell as Amy's former husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, who the late star was married to from 2007 to 2009. The new snaps come after Marisa was spotted filming intense scenes outside Amy's former home in Camden, London, where she was from.
In harrowing filming stills, Marisa played Amy as she screamed and cried watching her husband Blake Fielder-Civil being led away by the police. In one snap, Marisa sobbed as her character begged the authorities not to arrest her beau, whom Amy married in a secret ceremony in 2007.
She could be seen sporting Amy's signature beehive hairstyle with a leopard print bow fixed to it, whilst she wore a white tank top, black trousers and pink ballet pumps. Marisa, as Amy, ran at the police car as she tried to intervene when her boyfriend was arrested over a £200,000 plot to fix a trial.
