When it comes to giving gifts at Christmas, you want to get something they’ll love, and one of the best-loved presents is a fragrance. Not only will it last them for months to come, but it’s the type of splurge that most people put off making for themselves.
Although you no doubt know exactly which perfume or aftershave your loved one wears, if you’re looking for some inspiration or want to try something new for yourself there’s no better source than the Royal family themselves. Each of the senior royals has previously revealed which is their go-to scent, and to make your festive shopping a little easier, we’ve rounded up the best royal-approved fragrances to gift this Christmas.
King Charles III Prince Harry wrote in his book, Spare, that King Charles III reportedly wears an aftershave that he would "slather the stuff on his cheeks, his neck, his shirt. Flowery with a hit of something harsh, like pepper or gunpowder, it was made in Paris." Although he doesn’t reveal exactly which aftershave it is, it’s thought to be Dior Eau Sauvage Cologne Spray, £82.45 here, which has a citrus and aromatic scent.
William, Prince of Wales It’s reported that Prince William smells of a sharp, zesty fragrance that has hints of pine and peppercorn. Although it’s not been confirmed, the Prince of Wales’ go-to cologne is rumoured to be Penhaligon’s Blenheim Bouquet, £125 here, which has notes of lemon, black pepper and pine, and comes from the same brand as one of his late mum, Princess Diana’s, favourite perfumes.
