Alison Hammond 'shamed' by BAFTA co-host Richard E Grant as he recalls awkward blunder

Alison Hammon d was “shamed” by movie icon Richard E Grant in the leadup to their hosting gig at the EE British Academy Film Awards. Alison, who recently celebrated her birthday alongside her son and the likes of Holly Willoughby, is co-hosting this year's EE Baftas alongside Richard on Sunday night Before taking to the stage at the Royal Festive Hall alongside the national treasure, Richard, 65, revealed the awkward moment Alison, 48, forgot she’d already met him. While speaking with Emma Willis, who recently set off on an adventure alongside Rylan Clark and Oti Mabuse, Richard said: "I did, because I was on the show that she's on - on another channel, in the morning! "And so when we met, I said, 'Alison, we met before'.
She came up to me and said, 'We've never met before'. And I said, 'Yes we have' and I gave her the date. And she...she was shamed!" Emma burst out laughing at the admission, while co-host Jermaine Jenas added: "Yeah, that's a low point.” Previous hosts of the star-studded ceremony include Stephen Fry, Jonathan Ross, Joanna Lumley, Dermot O'Leary, Rebel Wilson and Graham Norton.
With a career that expands over three decades, Richard has worked with some of the biggest names of all time on projects like Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Doctor Who, Downton Abbey, Game of Thrones and Marvel’s Loki. On hosting the annual awards, Alison, who rose to fame on Big Brother back in 2002, said: “I'm so excited to be hosting at this year's EE BAFTA Film Awards with THE Richard E. Grant.
