“It’s pretty crazy to me that five years ago to the day, I was so lost, so confused and so scared about where my life would go,” Alexander continued. “All I knew was that I had an issue and a problem that needed to be fixed.”
Alexander went on to say that he was posting the video from Austin, Texas where he was celebrating with wife Lauren and his mom.
“I’ve lost a lot of friends to this disease, so many people didn’t make it and I don’t really know why, because there’s so many reasons why that should have been me and not them,” Alexander shared. “I don’t want to make this video as, like, congratulatory to myself — it’s really just for anybody that needs to see this.”
He added, “If you’re struggling, be brave enough to ask for help and take it from me, there really is hope at the end of the road, there really is a light at the end of the tunnel. It’s actually staggering to me how much has changed in my life since I got out until now.”
“It’s amazing what can happen when you decide to love yourself and commit to loving yourself and to growing every day as a human being as opposed to satiating these impulses we all have,” Alexander concluded.

Zack Sharf Digital News Director Emma Watson hasn’t acted since December 2018, when she wrapped production on Greta Gerwig’s beloved “Little Women” adaptation. Considering the “Harry Potter” star isn’t currently attached to any film or television projects, her acting hiatus could very well hit the five-year mark by the end of 2023. Why did Watson step away from acting? She told Financial Times in a recent interview that she “wasn’t very happy” with the profession. “I think I felt a bit caged,” Watson said. “The thing I found really hard was that I had to go out and sell something that I really didn’t have very much control over. To stand in front of a film and have every journalist be able to say, ‘How does this align with your viewpoint?’ It was very difficult to have to be the face and the spokesperson for things where I didn’t get to be involved in the process.”
