Speaking on Rangers TV, Rae was pleased with the one moment of quality from the home side, but very little else in what proved to be a sight sore eyes could have done without. Rae said: "It was well constructed (the goal) and you talk about playing through the lines. Lovely ball by Scott Wright first time and Matondo pulls the trigger. This was the deciding factor in the game and it was needed as that was a tough watch.
"I think Michael Beale post-match will be saying there were far too many opportunities passed up for his liking. The one thing you can say is there were guys putting their bodies on the line. It was difficult and hard fought but I think you are looking for more here at Ibrox if you are a Rangers fan."
Fellow pundit Shelley Kerr meanwhile believes the visitors will feel aggrieved of not making their hosts drop points. She added: "Credit to Motherwell.
"They tried absolutely everything, put an extra striker in the last 15 minutes and might consider themselves unlucky not to get something out the game. It was a tough, tough game and as much as Michael will be looking for more, he'll be happy with the clean
