The Wembley roar that greeted Alejandro Garnacho's arrival into the FA Cup final fray hinted at both Manchester United's huge potential and their biggest problem.
The teenage frontman has provided plenty of spark this season and is a genuine game-changer off the bench. He's shown his ability on countless occasions this term and the potential for more is clear to see.
The 18-year-old is lively and inventive and isn't overawed by the highest level and biggest occasions. But if that was a bright spot from the cup final, a look down the rest of the bench told its own story. United just don't have the depth to compete with Manchester City and some of the Premier League's leading lights.

Too often this season United have been unable to adequately cope with the absence of key players. Without Marcus Rashford, goals have been hard to come by. Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane's mid-season injuries shone a light on the defensive shortcomings. Casemiro missed several matches through suspension and it was keenly felt.
In the cup final, shorn of the injured Antony and Martinez, United lacked options off the bench capable of affecting proceedings. It's been a theme of the campaign.
Garnacho aside, the other Reds players who have been introduced 10 times or more in the league are Fred, Scott McTominay, Anthony Martial and Anthony Elanga. None of the quartet would strike particular fear into opponents and none would trouble the starting XIs of the top flight's best.
It's something United will have to fix if they are to challenge at the top of the table next season. And Ten Hag, who will be seeking to strengthen in several areas this summer, knows it only too
