borrowed their pride flag before serenading them at her 65,000-capacity gig in Hyde Park. Jack Burns-Langton, 28, was approached by a member of staff soon after arriving at British Summer Time festival from a bottomless brunch, and asked if his friend Dean, 32, would be willing to part with a pride flag in exchange for drink tokens and VIP access to Adele’s headline performance. The pair agreed without hesitation and soon found themselves backstage.
Their other friend, Lisa, was allowed to join, as they rubbed shoulders with celebrities, including Geordie Shore’s Charlotte Crosby. After renditions of Hello and I Drink Wine, Adele paused for some signature crowd interaction, turning towards the VIP section below to ask: “Is there a Jack and Dean somewhere?”. “Obviously, we’ve gone wild”, Jack, who lives in Colchester with his wife and two children, said.
Adele continued: “So Jack and Dean down there, do you remember earlier on when you were coming in someone came and said ‘Can we have your flag in return for some drink tokens?’“Well I wanted that flag for later for what I’m doing, and they said you burst into tears because you got moved to the front, so I thought I’d give you front row seats. ”Security ushered the trio of friends towards the stage, lifting them over the foremost barrier. “There was no-one between us and Adele, other than a couple of guards,” Jack added.
“She was leaning towards us, smiling. It was crazy”. The singer then wrapped herself in the Pride flag, paying tribute to the LGBT+ community before performing When We Were Young.
The concert came after the capital had spent a day celebrating the 50th anniversary of the UK’s first Pride parade. Jack said: “It was mind-blowing. I just felt this mad rush.
