Aaron Rodgers has ended his appearances on The Pat McAfee Show for the season, the show’s host announced on Wednesday’s episode.
“Aaron Rodgers Tuesday Season 4 is done,” McAfee said. “There’s going to be a lot of people that are happy with that — myself included, to be honest.”
He continued, “The way it ended, it got real loud and I’m happy that that is not going to be my [social media] mentions going forward.”
McAfee was referring to the media storm Rodgers’ appearance created after the New York Jets quarterback insinuated Jimmy Kimmel was on the Jeffrey Epstein list of associates.
Rodgers’ claims had Kimmel threatening legal action, which prompted a back-and-forth interaction and gave the show added attention that McAfee didn’t want. The Super Bowl champ made his last appearance on McAfee’s show on Tuesday to explain his claims about Kimmel and the history of their feud.
On Wednesday’s show, McAfee said that the added attention on the show after Rodger’s statements gave a lot of his detractors “a lot of stuff to get mad about.”
“We live in a country that has freedom of speech but also you’re going to have to deal with the consequences of your freedom of speech,” he said about being relieved Rodgers was not going to appear on the show anymore this season. “What I’m saying is, we’ve given a lot of people who’ve been waiting for us to fail, a lot of ammo in this to attack us for over the last week.”
He continued, “We would love to get back to the point where we just move on and continue to silence all the haters over here who can’t negotiate as good as I can. All the people over here that can’t create a show as good as us and all the people up here who will always be here and they’re going to hustle and do their
