MEO Kalorama has announced the final performers for this year’s festival that takes place between August 31 and September 2.The Prodigy and Lil Silva complete the line-up of MEO Kalorama 2023 that will see Arcade Fire, Florence + The Machine, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Aphex Twin and Foals, among many others perform at Parque da Bela Vista, Lisbon this summer.Recently added acts include The Hives, Baxter Dury, Tiga, James Holden and Shygirl.

The Prodigy.It was confirmed today (May 1) that White Rabbit had acquired the book, titled Wildfire: My Ten Years Getting High in the Prodigy, which is set to be released by the English DJ and music producer later this year.The artist is best known for his time as a member of The Prodigy, which spanned from 1990 to 2000, and in the memoir, he will recall what life was like to be part of the group during their first decade. It will also come fully illustrated with previously unseen photography – starting from their earliest raves, and creating a visual journey up until their shows in the late ‘90s, by which point the band were one of the biggest on the planet.“Rave pioneers whose sound also encompassed hip hop, punk and rock, The Prodigy arguably had as much influence on contemporary pop culture as the Sex Pistols and these extraordinary images from Leeroy’s personal archives capture the wild energy, ecstasy and abandon from the moment they dropped their first hit ‘Charly’ through the three albums which became the ubiquitous soundtrack to the decade: ‘Experience’, ‘Music for the Jilted Generation’ and ‘Fat of the Land’,” read a press release about the memoir.Wildfire will be published by White Rabbit on September 12, and available in hardback, ebook and limited edition variants.

The Prodigy have changed the controversial lyrics to their hit song ‘Smack My Bitch Up’.The track, taken from the band’s breakthrough album ‘The Fat Of The Land’, was released back in 1997, and sparked backlash for its lyrics, which were branded by some as celebrating violence against women.Despite the controversy, the single went on to achieve massive success in both the US and the UK, with the album later going on to top the charts in America just over one week after its release.Now, over 25 years since it was first shared, the band have altered the problematic lyrics during some of their recent live shows.It comes as The Prodigy are currently embarking on a European tour, which has included two nights at the Alexandra Palace venue in London over the weekend.

The Prodigy‘s Maxim has revealed that he destroyed a collection of artwork he’d created following the death of Keith Flint.Flint died by suicide on March 4, 2019. He was 49 years old. A toxicology report subsequently found that he had cocaine, alcohol and codeine in his system at the time of death.Last summer, The Prodigy headed back out on the road in tribute to their late frontman and they continue to perform live.

Max Romeo has filed a lawsuit against Universal Music Group (UMG) and PolyGram Records over alleged unpaid royalties dating back to 1976.In a DancehallMag report, the legendary reggae artist claimed he had not received any royalties from the licensing or sampling of his music for 50 years.
