When it debuted last year, “Gen V” seemingly continued the strong success of “The Boys” franchise on Prime Video. The series quickly was given a Season 2 pickup and everything seemed to be coming up roses for the cast and crew.

Comic book universes can venture far from their core storylines in a bid to attract more viewers (*cough* Marvel) despite producing content that grows increasingly less relevant.  Creators expect an audience to continually binge on the newest adaptation or sequel to get the slightest morsel of a new character or narrative twist that may or may not ever materialize later on. Thankfully “The Boys” showrunner Eric Kripke is well aware of that when talking about the upcoming season of the hit series.

Gen V have announced that they will not be recasting Chance Perdomo’s role as Andre Anderson for season 2 of the superhero show after the actor’s death.In March, Perdomo – who was 27 at the time – was involved in a fatal motorcycle accident and died as a result. While details of the accident are still private, it was reported that no other individuals were involved in the accident.The actor most recently appeared in Gen V – a spin-off to Prime Video series The Boys.

Prime Video‘s hit series The Boys is reportedly in development.According to a report from Deadline Hollywood, the spinoff will be set in Mexico, with Diego Luna and Gael García Bernal set to executive produce. The two are also reportedly considering acting in the series, though they won’t be playing major roles, Deadline says sources claims.Blue Beetle writer Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer will reportedly executive produce and write for the spinoff, which will be based on The Boys comics that take place in Mexico.

The Boys star Erin Moriarty has spoken out about the abuse she’s received from the Amazon show’s “misogynistic fans”.On Tuesday (September 6) the actress shared a fan-written article, titled “#IStandWithStarlight?: The Betrayal of Erin Moriarty by The Boys fans”, that pointed out the hateful comments directed at both her and her superhero character Starlight.Written by Instagram user @butcherscanary, the post read: “The harassment feels all the worse given the context of her role as Starlight on the show, a woman silenced and sexualised, treated like a celebrity canvas for others to project onto rather than a human being with her own thoughts and feelings.“But Annie is fictional, and Erin is not. With Season 4 of The Boys in production, fans are very excited about the news and rumors that have been hearing. One of the most recent is that Jeffery Dean Morgan will be in Season 4. Who he will be playing is still a mystery as well with how deep of a role he will get, but being such good friends with the showrunner it is sure to be an interesting role.
