Starfield is getting a story DLC, Shattered Space, this autumn and a new, free update that will be announced in the next few days, according to Todd Howard.In an interview with Kinda Funny Games, with transcriptions from VGC, Bethesda director Todd Howard confirmed “Shattered Space is in the fall, but we have a big update that’s coming really soon for Starfield.”Shattered Space was announced last year, back in June, and comes included with the proce of Starfield‘s premium editions. Players who bought those should be able to download the DLC when it launches at no extra cost, while players who only have the base game or Game Pass version will be required to pay up.“There’s a lot of stuff… we redid the map stuff, so we have some city map stuff,” said Howard.

FromSoftware is gearing up to launch Elden Ring expansion Shadow Of The Erdtree, but the studio has also hinted that a sequel could be in the works.The Shadow Of The Erdtree expansion for Elden Ring was first announced back in February 2023, with the DLC due for release June 21.According to Bandai Namco, it is “FromSoftware’s largest expansion to date, where players must unravel the hidden mystery of the world from the acclaimed fantasy action RPG.” In a new interview with Chinese outlet Campfire Camp, FromSoftware head Hidetaka Miyazaki has confirmed that Shadow Of The Erdtree will be “the first and last” DLC for the game. “We have no plans to add more content to Elden Ring,” he said (via IGN).“Elden Ring emphasises exploration and adventure in a big world. In order to provide such an experience, a vast and huge setting is inevitably needed.

Housemarque Studios has set social media ablaze with a mysterious teaser, with many fans speculating that a Returnal sequel is due to be announced in the coming days.Returnal was originally released in 2021 for the PlayStation 5, while a PC version was shared in 2023. Manor Lords released in Early Access last week, and developers are already looking to the fanbase to help shape the future of the game.Manor Lords is the work of one-person developers Slavic Magic and is already proving to be a hit on Steam. Over 170,000 users were playing the game concurrently over the weekend (according to SteamDB), and Manor Lords is currently the second most popular game on Steam based on sales, with close to 18,000 positive reviews.However Slavic Magic’s Greg Styczeń has taken to Discord (via PCGamesN) to ask fans about the future of Manor Lords’ trade system.“When press and content creators got the build two weeks ago, they often said that the trade is OP and that it’s too cheesy/exploity to just sell one type of good and make your town rich that way,” Styczeń said in a post.

People Can Fly has confirmed the cancellation of its co-op action role-playing game Project Dagger.The Outriders developers began work on the new action IP Project Dagger back in 2020 alongside Take-Two Interactive, but the publisher pulled out of the partnership in 2022. Following the split, People Can Fly retained the rights to the project and confirmed they were “now determined to grow the project on its own”.“We strongly believe in Project Dagger’s potential and are now committed to continue its development within our self-publishing pipeline,” said People Can Fly CEO Sebastian Wojciechowski at the time.

Battlestate Games has angered the Escape From Tarkov playerbase with the recently released Unheard edition of the game, which costs £215 (€250).The Unheard Edition is available to pre-order now, and comes with guaranteed access to the beta version of Escape From Tarkov alongside a number of perks that offer players an ingame advantage, including an enhanced stash size, more slots at the flea market and expanded PMC pockets.Players will also get access to all future expansions, a “unique melee weapon” and early access to highly-anticipated single player co-op mode alongside “Access to PvE co-op mode with persistent progression. Fallout London, an upcoming Fallout 4 overhaul mod set in London, has been “screwed” by Bethesda dropping a next-gen update for the game without warning.Speaking to the BBC, with transcriptions from PC Gamer, project lead Dean Carter says the update “has, for a lack of a better term, screwed us over.” The mod was due to launch on April 23, St Geroge’s day, and the “in-game start date”, but those plans have since been scrapped, with the launch pushed back indefinitely while the team takes time “tweaking and testing to get things as stable as we can for you all in time for that release.”Updates to games can frequently interfere with mods that then have to be updated too. In fact, Skyrim fans have already begged Bethesda not to update the game anymore as it is breaking their mods.

Histera has just announced its early access release date of May 16.In Histera, players will duke it out on a battlefield that’s being changed by a process called the Glitch. During the game’s eight versus eight fights, the Glitch can turn sections of the arena into landscapes from different eras.

Billie Eilish announced that she’d be taking to Fortnite on its festival’s headline stage today (April 23).The ‘Ocean Eyes’ singer will be a playable character in Fortnite Festival, Fortnite‘s rhythm game that emulates the likes of Guitar Hero and Rock Band. Players were all expecting some story DLC because developer Rockstar announced it.

Cities: Skylines 2 has apologised to players for a “rushed” expansion pack and delayed the console release of the city builder game.Cities: Skylines 2 was released at the end of last year, with players immediately experiencing technical difficulties. A number of hotfixes were released to try and fix a number of bugs and the beach properties expansion pack was delayed to 2024.

ConcernedApe has released a new patch for Stardew Valley, bringing 40 new mines and a fishing update to the sim.Last month, Stardew Valley received an absolutely massive 1.6 update that included new festivals, a new mastery system and a new farm alongside fixes, “secrets” and easter eggs.Shortly after that, creator Eric Barone confirmed the launch of a 1.6.4 patch that would feature “a new fishing thing, and some new mining related stuff”. Well, that patch has now gone live and it seems Barone was underselling it somewhat.According to the patch notes, the 1.6.4 update includes various quality of life, gameplay and technical fixes as well as updates for multiplayer and a number of balance edits.The 1.6.4 update is out for PC! This patch adds some new content, as well as many improvements, balance changes, and bug fixes.

Larian Studios has confirmed it is working on two new projects based on original IPs.Earlier this year, the studio confirmed it would not be working on Baldur’s Gate 4, nor would it be developing any significant new content for Baldur’s Gate 3. Warhorse Studios has revealed Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, with a new trailer revealing everything fans can expect from the medieval role-playing game (RPG).A direct sequel to 2018’s Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is set to launch in 2024 and will continue the story of peasant-turned-knight Henry in 15th century Bohemia.Speaking to press, Warhorse Studios confirmed that the “majority” of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will take place in the Bohemian city of Kuttenberg, and its full world will be two times bigger than the first game.Additionally, Henry’s story will be much grander in scope. He’ll now be dealing with the “problems of kings” on a quest to avenge his destroyed village, and the first trailer teases that with scenes of large-scale sieges and urban warfare.

Pocketpair has launched a fix for an ongoing issue with Palworld’s multiplayer mode and teased a “major” update.Palworld’s V0.2.0.6 update was released on Xbox earlier this week after launching on Steam but quickly started causing issues with player’s save data. Users were advised to avoid using the game’s multiplayer mode until it was sorted, and now Pocketpair have confirmed a fix.The latest patch “fixes a bug that prevented save data from loading correctly in multiplayer” but “chat has been temporarily disabled” due to the bug. Bethesda has confirmed a number of free updates are coming to Fallout 4 following the successful launch of Amazon Prime Video’s adaptation of the franchise.Bethesda originally announced a next-gen update for Fallout 4 back in 2022, with a proposed launch date of 2023. Roblox studio boss Stefano Corazza has hit back at claims the gaming platform “exploits” children.In 2021 a video from People Make Games claimed that online game creation system Roblox was taking advantage of its young playerbase by selling them the dream that they could become entrepreneurs with their creations and earn “serious cash” in the process.Anyone can create a Roblox experience via the platform’s ‘Create’ tool, which also offers tutorials and support. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas has explained the reasoning behind some of the stranger occurrences in the game.Taking to social media Obbe Vermeij, a former Rockstar North developer, explained why certain planes in San Andreas crashed near the player after confirming that the luck mechanic had nothing to do with it. “That’s just an urban legend”.Vermeij went on to say that the crashes were caused by bugs in the GTA code.

Originally, the remake of the 2003 game was due to be created by Aspyr Media before development was put on hold in 2022, following the sudden firing of two senior developers.Saber Interactive, which had joined the project earlier that year, then took over the remake.Updates have been few and far between, with Knights Of The Old Republic predicted to have a 2025 release date.

Palworld has hinted that their April Fools’ day dating sim expansion joke could become a reality.Yesterday (March 31) Pocketpair shared a video announcing Palworld: More Than Just Pals, a dating sim based in the Palworld universe, as an early April Fool’s day prank.The 90-second trailer introduces a number of Pals alongside one-line dating bios and a number of flirty interactions that quickly veer into more questionable actions. “Will you remain friends or fall in love,” started the accompanying description.
