When the soundtrack of the coronavirus crisis is played back years from now, it will be the uplifting sets of DJ D-Nice that capture the musical moment. Action film stalwart Jason Statham no longer wants a meticulously renovated and carefully updated mid-century residence in the ritzy foothills above L.A.’s Sunset Strip, setting it out for sale this week with an almost $7 million price tag. One of Hollywood’s most bankable stars, whose 2019 blockbuster “Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbes & Shaw” hauled more than three-quarters of a billion dollars in worldwide box office, Statham purchased the property in 2015 for $2.7 million.

Paul Getty — L.A.’s Getty museum is named after his family, has long sought to sell a crisply contemporary, ridgeline villa in the upper reaches of Nichols Canyon in L.A.’s Hollywood Hills that’s been on and off the market for about five years and has recently come back up for sale at $9.25 million.

Televised talent show tycoon Nigel Lythgoe has slung his posh and pedigreed, circa-1930s residence in L.A.’s tony Bel Air neighborhood up for sale with an asking price of $13 million.

“Queer Eye” fashion arbiter Tan France, also a co-host on “Next in Fashion,” Netflix’s strikingly similar answer to Bravo’s “Project Runway,” has celebrated his rising reality show success with the ever-so-slightly more than $2.5 million purchase of a 1920s Spanish villa along a winding street above L.A.’s perennially trendy Sunset Strip.

A brand-spanking-new and decadently appointed ultra-modern villa, all but invisible behind electronic gates along a pine-lined boulevard in an affluent if somewhat under-the-radar neighborhood of L.A’s proto-suburban Sherman Oaks community, was sold for $5.8 million and tax records indicate the new owner is “Criminal Minds” and “S.W.A.T.” star Shemar Moore.

“Future Man” star and producer Josh Hutcherson has sold his celeb-pedigreed pad along a famously star-lined street above L.A.’s fabled Laurel Canyon for not quite $2.95 million, a substantial chunk under the almost $3.5 million asking price.

While 2019’s first half was a particularly sluggish time for L.A.’s luxury real estate market, the back half made for the wildest year to date, bowing out with three $100+ million transactions and tallying no fewer than 17 other deals of $30 million or more.

Though he has long made his primary residence in Malibu, for more than a dozen years Kenny G has kept a low-key home in the trendy and increasingly spendy Studio City area of L.A.’s sprawling San Fernando Valley that’s come back for sale on the open market at $3.5 million. The new price tag is less than the nearly $3.7 million it was last listed at almost a year ago and substantially under the not quite $4 million the property was saddled with when it first popped up for sale in late 2018.
