"Fatal Attraction" showed everyone what can happen when you step out of line. In the iconic 1987 movie, Dan Gallagher and Alex Forrest, played by Michael Douglas and Glenn Close, engage in what he thought was a casual fling, only to realize he'd made the biggest mistake of his life.  One thing led to another, and as the title of the movie suggests, the attraction between the two characters ended up being fatal.  Following the release of the new Paramount+ series "Fatal Attraction" on Sunday, here are some of the juiciest behind-the-scenes secrets from the making of the '80s movie.  Origins While the movie isn't based on a true story, there are elements of the story that were pulled from situations screenwriter James Dearden experienced in his life or saw his friends experience.  "I'm not going to say [the story] was autobiographical," Dearden told Stephen Galloway, author of "Leading Lady: Sherry Lansing and the Making of a Hollywood Groundbreaker."  "But everyone has been in situations where they've been harassed.

What it does have is a more intricately fleshed-out narrative of a pompous and ambitious district attorney Dan Gallagher (Joshua Jackson), whose tawdry affair with a young woman, Alexandra Forrest (Lizzy Caplan), quickly spirals out of his control. “Dirty John” creator Alexandra Cunningham and writer Kevin J. Hynes’ series opens in the present day in Los Angeles, with a frazzled and bearded Dan pleading his case for parole. He’s served 15 years for killing Alex, a crime he attests to, before being granted his freedom. A young woman, whom the audience later learns is Dan’s estranged daughter, Ellen (Alyssa Jirrels), listens to her father’s confession, intrigued since he’s always maintained his innocence. Just as suddenly as the audience gathers their bearings, the series catapults back to 2008.

Paramount+ shows. The honorary Oscar recipient will star in “Lawman: Bass Reeves” in a recurring role. Sutherland will portray Judge Isaac Parker, who is described as “an imposing and commanding judge in the Fort Smith Courthouse with a complicated legacy.” .Previously titled “Bass Reeves,” the Paramount+ series will now be officially titled “Lawman: Bass Reeves” and will be an anthology series.

The logline for the Bass Reeves season states it will “bring the legendary lawman of the wild west to life. Reeves, known as the greatest frontier hero in American history, worked in the post-Reconstruction era as a federal peace officer in the Indian Territory, capturing over 3,000 of the most dangerous criminals without ever being wounded.”

Marc Malkin Senior Film Awards, Events & Lifestyle Editor “Fatal Attraction” showrunner Alexandra Cunningham says it was at a table read on Zoom when she knew that Joshua Jackson and Lizzy Caplan had the chemistry to make her reimagining of the 1987 movie work. “The entire cast was there and it’s everyone in their little windows,” Cunningham told me at the premiere of the Paramount+ series Monday night in West Hollywood at the Pacific Design Center. “As soon as Josh and Lizzy started talking to each other, there was chemistry. When you have chemistry on Zoom, you’re going to have chemistry when you meet in real life.” She continued, “Immediately it was like, ‘These people are really flirting. These people are really living this moment.’ And I was like, ‘Oh, my god, it’s gonna be okay.’”

Jazz Tangcay Artisans Editor Neon’s “How to Blow Up a Pipeline” is perhaps best described as part heist thriller, part climate change documentary. Fremantle Acquires Majority Stake In Belguim’s A Team ProductionsFremantle has acquired a majority stake in A Team Productions (ATP). Based in Belgium, A Team Productions was founded in 2009 and is led by Kobe van Steenberghe and Hendrik Verthé. The company is behind the 2011 short film Land of the Heroes, which won the International Jury Prize at Berlin in 2011. A Team also produced the short Baghdad Messi, which was shortlisted for an Academy Award in 2014. Other credits from the outfit include Patser (Gangsta) by filmmakers Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah.
