Justice speak out on “very embarrassing” meme of them singing Red Hot Chili Peppers’ ‘Under The Bridge’ to Anthony Kiedis

Justice have reflected on the “very embarrassing” moment that they serenaded Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis with one of his own songs. The French duo – comprised of Xavier de Rosnay and Gaspard Augé – looked back at the moment during a new interview with NME for the In Conversation series, in celebration of their new album ‘Hyperdrama’.During the discussion, the pair were asked about their tour documentary Across the Universe, which they shared back in 2008. The electronic group then went on to reveal that they haven’t considered watching the film recently – particularly because of one “embarrassing” moment that caught fans’ attention.“I haven’t seen it since it was released, actually,” de Rosnay said, with his bandmate going on to confirm that he had “seen a bit here and there” since its release 15 years ago.Going on to recall which aspect of the project he keeps seeing, de Rosnay explained: “The bit [that keeps] resurfacing is where I sing ‘Under The Bridge’ to Anthony Kiedis’s face, which was very embarrassing even to do, you know what I mean?He continued, explaining how the awkward moment arose: “Because this documentary was shot in a very short amount of time, we had to have the maximum amount of footage and just, like, make things happen otherwise there would be nothing happening.

Moby on apologising for calling Smashing Pumpkins’ Billy Corgan a “deadbeat” who “owes him a remix”

Moby has apologised to Smashing Pumpkins‘ Billy Corgan for calling him a “deadbeat” who “owes him a remix”.Back in 1997, the ‘Porcelain’ artist referred to the ‘1979’ singer as a “deadbeat” and told MTV News that Corgan owed him a remix, while on Corgan’s home turf at the Q101 Jamboree outside Chicago.“A lot of times when I do remixes, rather than get the artist to pay me, I work on a barter system,” Moby told the outlet. “Right now my debtors, people who owe me, are Soundgarden and the Smashing Pumpkins, I did remixes for them and they didn’t pay me anything for them.”He continued: “We did it with the understanding that they were supposed to do a remix for me, but unfortunately…with the Smashing Pumpkins I did a year and a half ago, and every time I see Billy I ask him where my remix is, but I can understand he’s kind of busy.”Now, Moby has opened up about his statement in a new interview with Stereogum.

Leeroy Thornhill announces memoir: ‘Wildfire: My Ten Years Getting High In The Prodigy’

The Prodigy. It was confirmed today (May 1) that White Rabbit had acquired the book, titled Wildfire: My Ten Years Getting High in the Prodigy, which is set to be released by the English DJ and music producer later this year. The artist is best known for his time as a member of The Prodigy, which spanned from 1990 to 2000, and in the memoir, he will recall what life was like to be part of the group during their first decade. It will also come fully illustrated with previously unseen photography – starting from their earliest raves, and creating a visual journey up until their shows in the late ‘90s, by which point the band were one of the biggest on the planet.“Rave pioneers whose sound also encompassed hip hop, punk and rock, The Prodigy arguably had as much influence on contemporary pop culture as the Sex Pistols and these extraordinary images from Leeroy’s personal archives capture the wild energy, ecstasy and abandon from the moment they dropped their first hit ‘Charly’ through the three albums which became the ubiquitous soundtrack to the decade: ‘Experience’, ‘Music for the Jilted Generation’ and ‘Fat of the Land’,” read a press release about the memoir.Wildfire will be published by White Rabbit on September 12, and available in hardback, ebook and limited edition variants.

Pet Shop Boys’ Neil Tennant reveals the “worst moment” of his life at Glastonbury

Pet Shop Boys’ Neil Tennant has said that the duo’s performance at Glastonbury in 2022 was the “worst moment” of his life. The electronic duo’s performance on The Other Stage on the Sunday of the festival was marred by technical difficulties which saw Tennant have to perform solo for six songs.Although they also delighted fans by bringing out Olly Alexander to perform ‘It’s A Sin’, Tennant has now reflected on how difficult that moment was in a new interview.“In our show there’s a screen and the screen goes up briefly, Chris and I appear and walk forward,” he told BBC Breakfast. “Glastonbury of course is live on television, we were headlining the Other Stage on the Sunday night, there’s 70,000 people there.“And the screen rose by about 10 inches and stopped and we just looked at each other and we couldn’t talk because you have the music in your headphones then.“So we both made a dash for it and ran around the front, Chris couldn’t get to his front keyboard in time so he went to a second keyboard positioned at the back and suddenly I run around and I think “I’m here by myself on live on television”.’He continued: “I didn’t know what had gone wrong, no one tells you and I had to do the first six songs by myself with an empty keyboard next to me.”“There’s was a real adrenaline rush off that.

Challengers, the new tennis-based film starring Zendaya, is out in cinemas tomorrow (April 26).It’s the latest film from acclaimed director Luca Guadagnino (Call Me By Your Name, Bones and All), and centres on an intense love triangle between tennis coach Tashi Duncan (Zendaya) and rival racket-thrashers Patrick Zweig (Josh O’Connor) and Art Donaldson (Mike Faist), who is also her husband. In a four-star review of the film, NME wrote: “The performances are exceptional, with off-the-scale chemistry between all three leads. Zendaya, in particular, is a force of nature, and you feel her angry frustration at her own career path (which was cut short by injury) in every scene.
