Dwayne Johnson just made his San Diego Comic-Con debut on Saturday, appearing alongside fellow DC Universe actor Zachary Levi as the two presented their upcoming films, and, respectively. The actor was greeted with a rapturous applause as he took the stage in costume in Hall H during the third day of the 2022 in-person event. And, luckily for fans, Johnson didn’t come empty handed.

James Gunn has carved his namesake into the hearts of the last decade’s superhero craze. He started with the violent dark comedy “Super” starring Rainn Wilson and then toned that aspect down while still taking a unique property in the “Guardians of the Galaxy” franchise for Marvel.

Looks like Warner Bros. and HBO Max have settled on their Blue Beetle superhero.

Well, that certainly didn’t take long. Following two-day old reports of a “Batgirl” short list with a list of potential contenders, Warner Bros.

Emerald Fennell is enjoying quite a bit of awards success in 2021 since the release of her revenge thriller, “Promising Young Woman,” is picking up awards left and right and earned several Oscar nominations.

DC Comics and DC Universe took a serious blow this week, hit with major layoffs as part of WarnerMedia’s cuts to the overall company, and the streaming service, DC Universe, is basically dead now. While everyone laments the loss of jobs, many have talked about what these layoffs mean about the overall health of the DC brand, which in another way, can be framed as: it ain’t Marvel.

“Doom Patrol”, the show featuring the strangest team of superheroes on television, is back for a second season. The first season of “Doom Patrol” launched on DC Universe, the streaming platform for DC Comics.

“Stargirl” has an official premiere date on DC Universe.
