That more is starting to reveal itself some four months later as THR reveals a live-action “Teen Titans” movie is in the works.

The new DC Universe by DC Studios is starting to take shape. Following Co-CEO James Gunn’s “Superman” film (formerly titled “Superman: Legacy”), due in 2025, plans for a “Supergirl” film were said to be next in line.

As a result, Lundgren’s involvement in The Lost Kingdom was also cut down, which he suggests impacted the final cut of the superhero film.“I just realized that it was some kind of corporate decision that they try to limit Amber Heard and then I’m playing with her dad and went along with it,” Lundgren explained to ComicBook.com.Due to Heard’s reduced role, the film was allegedly reworked.

Just the other day, we noted that James Gunn has launched a multi-year expansion of DC Studios: five films, five TV series, and that’s already about as long as a ten-year plan that’s reportedly not all he has to unveil in his “Gods And Monsters” phase of his DC Universe reboot. But so far, only one film has a release date, “Superman: Legacy,” due in summer 2025, which Gunn will write and direct himself.

With the release of “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” this week, Warner Bros. long, disappointing year of superhero films comes to a merciful end.

One of the various 2023 DC movie flops was the release of “Shazam! Fury of the Gods.” Sure, the film didn’t necessarily reach the same levels (artistically) as the first one, but the box office made it seem as if the sequel was one of the worst films of the year. That’s just not the case.

Following the end of the SAG-AFTRA strike, director James Gunn quickly assured his followers on social media that “Superman: Legacy,” his next directorial effort, would not be delayed and would keep its 2025 date. And in seemingly keeping with that full-steam-ahead promise, it appears that Gunn has found one of his primary villains.

This year has really been an odd (and ultimately bad) year for DC superhero films. Even when you take the quality of the products out of the picture, the box office results from each DC superhero film from this year (including “Shazam! Fury of the Gods,” “The Flash,” and “Blue Beetle”) has been abysmal.

If you’re a fan of Zack Snyder (and lord knows, there are plenty of you guys online), then you’re well aware “Rebel Moon” arrives on Netflix in December. Many will take notice of its impending release, as a new Snyder film seems to generate a lot of buzz amongst fans and non-fans alike.

As we get ever so closer to the end of 2023, there are quite a few major stories that have dominated the film industry. Strikes aside, one of those stories is quite possibly the utter failure of DC superhero films this year.

It’s no surprise that a reboot of the DC superhero film universe would result in some established actors losing their roles. We already got confirmation that Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill would be left out of James Gunn’s plans for the DCU.

While David S. Goyer has had a long career in the film and TV industry, there will be many who know him best for his comic book film work.
