With the SAG strike finally over, it’s time for studios to put their release schedules for upcoming movies back together. But in the case of Disney and Marvel Studios, it means more maneuvering in a year full of release date shuffles.

Recently, actors such as Steven Yeun (“Beef”) and Ayo Edebiri (“The Bear”) exited Marvel’s “Thunderbolts” movie ahead of filming due to scheduling conflicts and multiple production delays, but “Blade” has also lost a cast member exit, too. Actor Aaron Pierre (“Underground Railroad”), who had landed an unnamed part in the studio’s reboot of “Blade,” has revealed to Variety on the red carpet of the 55th NAACP Image Awards that due to the creative changes on the project, he’s “no longer part of that.” “Early on, there were conversations.

What’s happening in the world of Marvel’s “Blade”? More and more delays, apparently. Announced at Comic-Con 2019, Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali was reportedly the one that sparked Marvel’s interest in the project, approaching the studio that they needed a new version of the Wesley Snipes starring classic for the MCU, and they agreed.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that “True Detective” creator/writer Nic Pizzolatto has been tapped by Marvel to help on the latest round of rewrites for the supernatural action-horror film.

British actress Mia Goth is quickly cementing herself as a modern scream queen with roles in horror pics like “A Cure For Wellness,” “Suspiria,” “X,” “Pearl,” Brandon Cronenberg‘s creepy flick “Infinity Pool,” and the latest Ti West installment “MaXXXine.” Goth is now sinking her teeth into another horror project, but this one is coming from Marvel Studios with their “Blade” reboot from director Yann Demange (“White Boy Rick“).
