Kate Hudson has two words for anyone who slams her singing career — “f–k you.” That’s exactly what she said when she recalled a critic telling her she wasn’t young enough to launch a singing career.“There was someone who said to me — and it kind of jarred me a little — it was when I was in my early 30s, and they basically said, ‘It’s done, it’s passed. You can’t, you’re too old,'” Hudson said in an interview with CBS’ Sunday Morning, which aired on Sunday.“And you know, for me, it wasn’t just about being a performer, it was about wanting to write music,” she went on.

with Rolling Stone, Billie Eilish reveals that masturbation is one of her secret obsessions.“TMI, but self-pleasure is an enormous, enormous part of my life, and a huge, huge help for me,” said Eilish, 22, whose third studio album, “Hit Me Hard and Soft,” is due May 17.“People should be jerking it, man. I can’t stress it enough, as somebody with extreme body issues and dysmorphia that I’ve had my entire life.”Overcoming those body issues, Eilish has learned to love herself — au naturel — by masturbating in front of a mirror.“Partly because it’s hot, but it also makes me have such a raw, deep connection to myself and my body, and have a love for my body that I have not really ever had,” she said.

The Tortured Poets Department” — which has seven explicit songs that all come with warning labels. The controversy over whether or not “Taylor Tots,” a nickname given to young fans of the 34-year-old superstar, should be listening to it sparked a debate on the Facebook group Taylor Swift’s Vault, which has over 480,000 members.“I feel bad for all the Taylor Tots because most parents are not going to deem this album appropriate,” member Crystal Barkley wrote in a post on Friday, the day the album was released.Barkley’s post garnered 1,500 likes and over 1,000 comments — and a bunch of moms said they are shielding their little ones from its curse words and mature themes, such as sex, harm, violence and death.“This album is definitely NOT suitable for kids,” agreed Tana Hancock.“It’s called ‘tortured poets’ who thought this would be a kid-oriented album?” added Stephanie DeVaughn. Some parents said they are not concerned as much about the swearing in her new music, but its dark content.“I’m OK with the curse words, but there’s a lot of self-harm, violence, and death talk I’m not feeling comfy with at this second,” Casey McDonald Smith wrote.“I’m going to sleep on it and give it a few more listens before I decide how I’m going to approach it with my 9 year old.”Kilee Herlin agreed, saying she is unsure if it’s suitable for youngsters’ ears.“I have been debating this myself. Not because of swears, but just because of the deep, mature feelings.

Forget bad blood: Bad words on Taylor Swift’s albums increased with every release before ‘TTPD’: unscientific Reddit study

The Tortured Poets Department” contains seven explicit songs — “The Tortured Poets Department,” “Down Bad,” “But, Daddy, I Love Him,” “Florida!!!,” “loml,” “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart” and “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” — which all come with warning labels.Words like “f–k,” “bitch” and “s–t” can be heard in the new double album released on Friday, which in less than 24 hours, broke the record for most streamed album in a single day in Spotify history.Swifties are noticing the increase in dirty words in the songstress’ work since she debuted at the innocent age of 16 to the 34-year-old she is today, with a string of ex-lovers in her past and current boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl champ Travis Kelce. One fan even made a graph to illustrate just how many curses are uttered in each of her 10 previous albums and when she added words like “f–k” and “d–khead” to her repertoire. While her debut album in 2006, “Taylor Swift” only has one bad word — “damn” — the two that followed, “Fearless” and “Speak Now,” have none, according to an unscientific chart created by Reddit user katlaube.

Taylor Swift-inspired pet names surge ahead of ‘Tortured Poets Department’ release

Taylor Swift fans are known to give their fur babies monikers inspired by the pop star — and there was a recent spike in this Swiftie tradition ahead of the release of her double album “The Tortured Poets Department” on Friday.Besides the name Taylor itself, her song and album titles like Karma, Red and Midnight made the Top 10 list, as well as Travis and Kelce, in honor of her Super Bowl-winning boyfriend, according to user data compiled by pet insurance marketplace Pawlicy Advisor.“I had searched Taylor-themed girl names and wasn’t getting anything I just loved, then it hit me — ‘Poet’ would be perfect,” said Bridget Colbert, who picked up her Mini Australian Labradoodle on April 10.The mom of four daughters said their family’s new addition will help them get over not being able to attend the songstress’ current concert tour.“Being able to afford that many attending the Eras Tour isn’t an option, the next best thing was a sweet pup,” Colbert, 40, who lives in Elizabeth City, NC, told The Post.Heather Argrave got a new kitten on April 14 and named her “Willow,” after the lead single from Swift’s 2020 album “Evermore.”The Prairieville, LA resident works as a nurse in the emergency department of a veterinary teaching hospital, and the short hair Calico was brought in because of the kindness of a stranger.“We receive what’s called ‘Good Samaritan’ animals. “The Tortured Poets Department.”The Fleetwood Mac alum, 75, penned a moving poem about heartbreak that serves as a prologue on the 14-time Grammy winner’s 11th studio album, which dropped on Friday and was unveiled as a double album in a 2 a.m. surprise announcement to fans.“He was in love with her / Or at least she thought so / She was broken hearted / Maybe he was too / Neither of them knew,” Nicks writes, in part.“She was way too hot to handle / He was way too high to try… He really can’t answer her / He’s afraid of her / He’s hiding from her / And he knows that he’s hurting her / She tells the truth / She writes about it / She’s an informer / He’s an ex-lover.”“There’s nothing there for her / She’s already gone / There’s nothing that can stop her,” the “Edge of Seventeen” hitmaker continues.“She was just flying / through the clouds / When he saw her / She was just making her way / to the stars / When he lost her…”Swift’s admiration for the “Dreams” singer has long been known since the pair took the stage together at the Grammys in 2010.The duo performed Swift’s “You Belong with Me” and Nicks’ hit track “Rhiannon,” after which Swift gushed over the “fairytale” experience.Nicks, for her part, praised Swift’s “determination” and “childlike nature” at the time, adding that “this girl writes the songs that make the whole world sing, like Neil Diamond or Elton John.”“Taylor reminds me of myself in her determination and her childlike nature.

Beyoncé’s ‘Cowboy Carter’ proves that we’re all living in Bey country: review

So decreed Queen B in a rare lengthy Instagram post about “Cowboy Carter,” which is “Act II” in her “Renaissance” trilogy that began with the underground house beats of her 2022 album that had us buzzing and bopping to “Break My Soul,” “Cuff It” and “Alien Superstar.”And while it may seem like a hair-whipping flip to take it from the ballroom to the barnyard on her latest, it is not as radical of a departure as it may seem for Bey herself, who hails from Houston, Texas, and is as Southern as any hummingbird could be.“They used to say I spoke ‘too country’/And the rejection came, said I wasn’t ‘country ’nough’/Said I wouldn’t saddle up/But if that ain’t country, tell me, what is?” she sings with a snarl in her twang on “Ameriican Requiem,” the autobiographical manifesto that opens the album. This is Bey unplugged, raw and rootsy, two-stepping across the color lines that took “Texas Hold ’Em” — the banjo-picking bluegrass stomper that previewed “Cowboy Carter” last month — all the way to No.

“Act II: Cowboy Carter,” due March 29.Mrs. Carter’s news left the Beyhive buzzing, with many recalling the cold reception the artist appeared to have once received from the country-music community, which inspired her to make her new LP.“It was born out of an experience that I had years ago where I did not feel welcomed…and it was very clear that I wasn’t,” she wrote in an unusually lengthy post. And fans are speculating that Beyoncé is referring to the 2016 Country Music Association Awards, when she performed “Daddy Lessons” — a distinctly country ditty off her much-lauded “Lemonade” album — with the Chicks.Country star Alan Jackson reportedly walked out on the performance in protest, later tweeting #KeepItCountry. But seven years after that controversial CMAs appearance, Beyoncé has become the first black woman to have a No.

Justin Timberlake gets his groove back — and reunites with *NSYNC — on comeback album

Justin Timberlake’s last studio album, 2018’s “Man of the Woods,” on which the pop superstar got his Americana on.But many of the fans who had rocked their bodies to his previous hit LPs — from 2002’s “Justified” to 2006’s “FutureSex/LoveSounds” to 2013’s “The 20/20 Experience” — weren’t feeling the flannel on JT.And, by his lofty standards, “Man of the Woods” was the first (relative) flop of his career. It was the first real misstep from a man who had seemed to have all the right moves as he smoothly grooved from curly haired boy-bander to sexy-MFing solo sensation. But on “Everything I Thought It Was,” Timberlake, now 43, is back to being a Man of the Dance Floor, a Man of the Bedroom and even, once again, a Man of the Boy Band.(Yup, *NSYNC is back!)Suffice to say, Chris Stapleton is nowhere to be found on this joint.Clearly, Timberlake is trying — almost desperately — to make up for lost time on his sixth solo LP, which stretches out to 77 minutes. And no, it’s not a double album.

Federal court revives lawsuit against Nirvana over 1991 ‘Nevermind’ naked baby album cover

man who appeared naked as a 4-month-old on the cover of Nirvana’s 1991 album “Nevermind.”Spencer Elden’s lawsuit against the grunge rock group alleges that he has suffered “permanent harm” as the band and others profited from the image of him underwater in a swimming pool, appearing to grab for a dollar bill on a fish hook. The suit says the image violated federal laws on child sexual abuse material, although no criminal charges were ever sought.A federal judge in California threw out the lawsuit last year but allowed Elden to file a revised version, which the judge later dismissed on grounds that it was outside the 10-year statute of limitations of one of the laws used as a cause of action.Thursday’s decision by a three-judge panel of the Ninth US Circuit Court of Appeals in California reversed that ruling and sent the case back to the lower court. The appellate panel found that each republication of an image “may constitute a new personal injury” with a new deadline and cited the image’s appearance on a 30th-anniversary reissue of “Nevermind” in 2021.“The question whether the ‘Nevermind’ album cover meets the definition of child pornography is not at issue in this appeal,” the court wrote, according to the New York Times. In an email to The Associated Press, Nirvana attorney Bert Deixler called the ruling a “procedural setback.”“We will defend this meritless case with vigor and expect to prevail,” he wrote. The Associated Press does not typically name people who say they have been victims of sexual abuse unless they come forward publicly, as Elden has.

Can Dolly Parton really rock? Our verdict on the country legend’s ‘Rockstar’ revamp

Dolly Parton is not a rock singer.Nor — as her much-hyped head-banger makeover on “Rockstar” demonstrates — does she have any business making a “rock” album. But, at 77, the country legend has, as much as any living artist today, more than earned the right — at least three lifetimes over — to do whatever the hell she wants. And really, this whole vanity project was fueled by the humility with which Parton has become a goddess on earth. After she was nominated for the Rock & Roll of Fame last year, she gracefully and ever-so-graciously asked for her name to be withdrawn from the ballot.“I don’t feel that I have earned that right,” she said in a statement.

Enough, Drake! Why the hip-hop superstar really needs to take a break

Drake announced the surprise release of his “Scary Hours 3” EP — in an elaborate, two-minute trailer posted on Instagram — mere hours before it dropped at midnight on Friday, I could barely muster up a shrug.Nor was I impressed that he apparently came up with all six of these new songs just five days right before the trailer dropped. (Although OK, OK, the fact that he could get his hometown Toronto Symphony Orchestra onboard for a quickie shoot is a baller flex.)This EP — the third in his “Scary Hours” series that started in 2018 — comes only six weeks after the release of the hip-hop superstar’s “For All the Dogs” album, and its six tracks are also featured on an expanded “Scary Hours” edition of Drake’s eighth solo LP.But in case you aren’t keeping track — and really, how could all but the most devoted Drizzy fans be at this point? — “For All the Dogs” was already 22(!) new Drake songs.
